Owner description: Fløyen is a must do while in Bergen. Fløibanen, the funicular brings you up the hillside, from Bergen city centre to the top of the mountain in 6 minutes. At Mount Fløyen you will find beautiful views of Bergen, the nearby islands, fjords and mountains surrounding Bergen. Fløyen is a great destination for hiking, mountain biking and soft adventures. We are surrounded by hillsides, mountains, forests, nice little lakes and numerous trails. We offer daily guided hikes “Hiking Mount Fløyen" and Mountain bike rental from mid June until mid August. We love children, and the children love Fløyen. Let the kids explore our playground, Fløysletten climbing playground, the Troll forest. Try out canoe paddling at lake Skomakerdiket (mid June - mid August), feel the adrenalin rush in FløyenKids ziplinepark and get at kiss from our lovely goats at Fløyen. Fløistuen shop and cafè have souvenirs, perfect gifts and memories from Bergen and Norway. We offer local food as “Fløyenbollen", the cinnamon-bun and our organic soup “Fløyensuppen". Fløien Folkerestaurant is open daily from May until September.

We prebooked tickets on line in the UK ( they are valid for the day you choose so you can pick anytime to go up and down on the funicular). The train is really quick and comes regularly - we waited for about 5 minutes for one and it’s great if you can sit at the front as you ascend to get the views.

The views from the top are great - really expansive of the whole of Bergen. There is a nice gift shop/ cafe and good clean toilets and a children’s playground which even out teenagers loved! As it was winter some buildings seemed closed so I don’t know what else would be going on in the summer.

We went on a 10 minute walk to the Lake which was semi frozen and then walked around it in a snow storm but it was lovely and nice to get the fresh air.

It’s a lovely trip to do - obviously when it is clear enough to see the views so check the weather before you head up.

Lovely little ride up the mountain on the funicular with beautiful trails of different lengths at the top, through the forest. Great views of the city & water and a nice break from the hustle & bustle.

It is a little hard to find the ticket office as our google maps was a little misleading. A quick journey up the mountain which shows spectacular views over Bergen so worth the visit.

On a nice day it is a great walk up or down and use the funicular the other way. Great views of the city and lots of flattish walks once at the top. Walk up then have a coffee in the cafe or shop.

We used the funicular for a return journey on each of our 3 days in Bergen (free in winter with the Bergen Card). The views are great as you head up the mountain and see more and more of the city and water below. Good views from the top (when visibility is okay), but the real attraction is the number of walks and hikes from floyen. We did two fantastic round trips of about 2-3 hours each, with spectacular views, particularly around Rundemanen
