We chose the hotel mainly because of the central location near to the train and bus station. It was a 5-10 minute easy walk to the fish market. We had a triple room, and I requested bed arrangements and a quiet room in advance. Both requests were met, and I was happy with the size of the room, which still had room for 3 easy chairs and a coffee table, even with the sofa converted to a bed.

We had a room on the 6th floor at the back of the hotel, near to the stair well, and despite my reservations about noise from the stairs/lift, it was very quiet. This was a midweek stay, so don't know if that would be different at a weekend when they have functions. As we were at the back there was a bit of a hum from the extractor units which might be a problem for some, but I am a very light sleeper and found it didn't disturb me at all.

Room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. A split shower hose was dealt with promptly, as were requests for additional pillows. Plenty of power sockets on every wall, so as long as you have enough adaptors, there are enough places to charge all of your appliances at once. Wifi was free and reliable too.

My one reservation is the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided all day by reception, and this was great, but I was grateful that I remembered to pack my travel kettle!

Staff were polite and helpful, and we had a great stay.

We did the NIN trip and got off at the Bergen train station. The hotel is a 2 minute easy walk away. Room was a little small, like many Euro cities. But breakfast was good, and location was perfect for us. Quiet, about a nice 20 minute walk from Bryggen. Another NIN traveler was complaining about staying in Bryggen and how noisy it was. Good wifi.

The rooms are quite small and a little noisy. Parking is not free and in a difficult to access multi-storey along the street, but would be ideal for train travellers as it's over the road from the station. Breakfast is good. Overall it is not particularly good value for money. Hotel advertises as 4 star, but it's more like 3. Whilst it is ok, if I go back to Bergen I will probably look for something else. There is extensive construction work ongoing at the railway station as at August 2014 so it can be noisy early in the morning.

The bar area is nice, quaint and a pleasant place to sit.

This is a very quaint hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and a little noisy. It's ok for a night or maybe two. The breakfast buffet is large and has plenty to choose from. It is a leisurely 8-10 minute walk to the waterfront and Bryggen.

Room Tip: The second floor is a bit noisy. Not sure if higher floors would be quieter or not.

Charming hotel. Old style. Rooms need an upgrade. No air conditoning on extremely hot days. It was so difficult to sleep. Also there was a party at an apartment across the street, lots of noise, staff at the front desk told me he could not do anything about it. He could not do anything about no fans in the hotel either. Not a friendly attitude.
Breakfast room OK and good breakfast selection.
Walking distance to the city center. Free wifi.
Our room was very small.

Hotel Terminus in Bergen is a beautifully restored historic hotel with small but comfortable rooms. But, it really comes down to the question about what you need the hotel for . . . TO SLEEP. Apparently, when there's a party (wedding, last night till 1 AM, then the staff moving all the furniture back to the proper places) in the hotel, the sound transmits up to the rooms. At first, my wife and I thought it was just from the garden area in through our open windows, and when I complained to the staff at 10 PM, they lent me an electric fan so we could close the windows(my suggestion, their solution). But the historic structure was no match for the party's amplified music & scraping of the floor by moving furniture as the sound transmitted up the walls the rest of the night.
It's a well located beautiful hotel with a gym and a great breakfast, but I would never stay here on a weekend night again.
