“Great pizzas at affordable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

Just behind the Byggen area at Bergen, you can find this little gem if you fancy an Italian meal. As soon as we entered we were greeted by very nice staff who guided us to a table and immediately brought us a jug of water together with a basket of bread with oils.
We decided we only wanted a pizza, so this what we ordered. The bonus (for us) was that wine, which is so expensive in Bergen, was a reasonable 165 NOK for a half litre carafe and was not bad!
The pizzas soon arrived and were really good. They were bigger than the 12 inch plate with a good thin base, well cooked and topping was just as ordered. There was a large selection of pizzas and typical Italian meals to choose from and what we saw of other peoples pasta dishes looked good with decent sized portions.
The bill was brought over with 4 mini toblerones and came to 455 NOK.
I would have no hesitation in recommending a meal here if you wanted a change from the numerous fish restaurants around the area.

“Trip Advisor so wrong”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

Went here on strength of reviews on TA. It's rarely wrong. Also went because of the choice of vegetarian pastas. We booked a table. It wasn't full but the pleasant waitress was rushed off her feet, and took about 10 minutes to take our order. Only one of us was having a starter but it was ONE HOUR after we arrived before it was served. Rather tasteless grilled chicken kebabs. People who came in after us were having their main courses. Then another long wait. My seafood pasta was fairly good, but my wife's vegetarian pasta was awful. The sauce was almost pure olive oil. Had to send it back. The replacement was less oily but had an odd flavour. Too much tomato puree, and a weird concoction of herbs. It looked like other people were enjoying better food and service, but if you draw the short straw as we did you're going to be bitterly disappointed.

“Mediocre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We went there for a dinner twice. Each time the pizza was below expectations. It is thin dough. Very thin. Somehow when you cut it and eat the center, the center doesn't have a taste. This could be because of too much oil or tasteless cheese. However, going to the edges the pizza becomes gradually more tasty, the tomato part is good.
Then, the house white wine that you get when ordering just a glass of wine is pretty bad. In Italian you can say that it is a tavernello - cooking wine. Otherwise, the fish dishes seemed very nice.

“Good Italian with a lovely owner/waiter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

A good decent Italian offering exactly what you would expect. Food was above average, just like the service. Lovely if you fancy Italian in Bergen. (do check out the wifi signal names that will show up on your device lol).

“Just the job!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

Decided to have a lighter supper with my family and a Pizza was the suggested favourite of my youngest. Used Tripadvisor and found this place. Not put off by some negative reviews we gave it a try. Pleased we did. The decor is truly awful but it is clean. The food was good, well prepared and plentiful. Service was pleasant and the Pizzas were thin based with good taste. One of my boys had a seafood spaghetti dish which looked and tasted great. All in all - just the job!
