Nygårdshøyden is in the center of Bergen and hosts four of the faculties of the University of Bergen. Residences from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries dominate the hill and make it a very pleasant surrrounding. Two of the residences have been converted into the Hotel Park, one makes the main building, the second is just across the street. It is very pleasant place to stay and it is particularly well suited for academics that pay visit to the university. I have stayed there many times and this time I had a pleasant room (211) in the annex, spacious and well lit through the windows facing east and south. My only reservation affects the bed which was rather flimsy and narrow. The recently redecorated reception was a pleasant surprise. Definitely a good choice!
