“A good value stay”

The hotel lobby and breakfast area are nicely decorated with and have a vintage feel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options available. Coffee, tea and brownies are available any time through the day, which is a nice touch.

This hotel is located about 10 minutes (uphill!) walk from the city center, but worth the trek. It appeared to be a refurbished historic building with lots of charm. The front desk was helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was small (not too many hot items) but sufficient. Tea and coffee and brownies (!) were served all day. My room was a reasonable size and offered a lovely view over the city; it was at the top floor which requires a lot of stairs-climbing (and no lift). My only issue was the price, which I thought was high (even considering that everything in Norway is expensive!).

Room Tip: For a great city view, ask for a top floor room with window view.

The staff of this hotel are extremely helpful and courteous with providing directions, dining suggestions, walking routes, and just plain helpful. We had a spacious room on the top floor which was quite comfortable. I would say the only problem was the shower, which could definitely be larger. Also, there is no elevator (lift). Aside from that, we enjoyed our breakfast very much. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel provided homemade brownies/cakes along with tea and coffee all day/evening. It is within walking distance to the downtown historic area.

This was a cozy stay in hotel in a quiet neighborhood, with a short walk to the city centre. We have received a nice room with a small balcony. We had a nice view over the city. We have enjoyed breakfast very much, we have enjoyed homemade things and warm bread and small cakes. In the afternoon you could enjoy homemade brownie. The wifi did not really work well. I cannot recommend park behind the hotel, as it was loooking like there are a lot of drug addicted people. Beside that my stay was really great!

Located is a very quiet neighborhood, yet quite close to the city centre, this hotel is a very nice hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. We enjoyed the breakfast which was not lavish like the 5*, but in my opinion was far more delicious. The Wifi was on and off and we had to take passwords multiple times and is one area that the hotel should focus on. We were 3 of us and the room was just right.

I selected this hotel based on the exterior-it looked so beautiful. The Hotel Park is a member of De Historiske, and I love old hotels with character. We were here for two nights. Our room was on the ground floor (really basement) of the annex across the street from the original building, so I was a little disappointed in our location + it had a subterranean feel to it-maybe it was the chilly rainy weather. The hotel is in a somewhat sketchy part of town with lots of graffiti around (but also all over the city, not just in this neighborhood) which is heartbreaking to see on these old buildings. Breakfast was "meh" and I agree the room is too tiny for the number of guests who lined up for coffee or tea. It is beautifully decorated however. Paying extra to park on the street was a bummer as well. The room was cleaned but they forgot to give us any fresh towels so my husband had to go across the street in the rain to get them. I know, little details, but still.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the original building, not the annex.

We stayed 3 nights (wish it were more) and we were so comfortable that we did not want to leave. Our room #014 was in the new building, in the "basement" which simply means ground level since the hotel sits on a very sloped street. The room was perfectly well-appointed with everything you need (and we found the beds very comfy) although wi-fi is very spotty in that building. Tea and coffee with lovely brownies are available in the main building all day and we found popping over there for tea, a nice ritual at the end of the day. The lobby in the main building is beautiful and very Scandanavian…clean, elegant and simply decorated with nice details. The breakfast is FABULOUS! There is no bacon and eggs but wonderful fresh breads, pickled herring, smoked salmon, granolas, tea, coffee, juice and yogurt. The staff…can't say enough about them! They are all fantastic! Helpful, friendly and it is clear that they love their jobs(love that sweetie Vaiva!!!). It's a short walk (10minutes at most) to the central station and airport bus. 10-15mins to the old harbor and yes, there is a hill to the hotel but if you walk through the neighborhood, you avoid the big hill and just walk on a gently grade. We paid 1470NOK per night (yes, that is €170) and loved it…it's Norway and it's expensive.

Room Tip: If you want a room in the older building, just ask. Rooms with 0 in front of the number are in the...
