Bergen YMCA Hostel is located in City center of Bergen. It is closed to Fish Market, Tourist Information, Korskirken, Vågen, not far to Bryggen World Heritate and Fløibanen.

I stayed over for 1 night in 4-Bed room. There is a shower/toilet in the room but No hanger in the shower room. Low Wi-fi connection in your room but you can get better Wi-fi connection at the 2nd floor in the public area.

There is lugguage room at the 2nd floor which is useful for check out time of 10.30 AM. However, it looks unsafe because no staff obseration when guests bring the key and keep/take out the luggage.

No reception if you arrive Bergen YMCA Hostel after 9 PM. However, you can email to staff in advance to get the security number for entering the hostel and to get your key in the security box.

Noted: There is lift at the 1st floor to the upstair, just walk pass the stair at your right hand side.

This was the most reasonable option for our family, during a one-night stay in Bergen. Hotel prices in Norway are ridiculously high, with a poor return on service and amenities. Being a hostel, one cannot compare against services at a hotel, but having stayed in several hostels around the world, I would have to say this was a disappointment. We booked a family room, which was pretty dingy and could have done with a good cleaning. There was no one at reception when we arrived, so we just made the most of it and bunked in for the night. Staff at reception were unfriendly and uninterested in helping us with recommendations for somewhere to have breakfast. We've never encountered this at other hostels where we've stayed - staff are generally friendly and interested in engaging with guests. Bergen itself is a beautiful city, and it's a cheap-ish bed for the night, so I wouldn't discourage people from staying here . . . . but it's probably best to keep expectations low.

I know that this is the cheapest hostel in Bergen and I shouldnt expect much, but the reception is really UNFRENDLY. my friends and I booked the wrong dates (and We are so thankful because now we dont have to stay in YMCA), and the reception didnt do much to help us either. Initially I thought, probably this is the kind of service Bergen's hostel gives, but no, another budget hostel is way way way way much friendlier and nicer!

We stayed here for one night. Free Wi-Fi. Located in heart of the city, walking distance from Railway and Bus station. All attrations are at walking distance. The dormitory is good, luckily only 5 people were staying in a place of 30. Lockers are available. Wi-Fi network not available in dormitory due to its location.

The place was reasonable. People seemed happy and the place itself was clean.
However there was no way to have a shower in the big dorm (or publicly available), staff seemed more interested in going home than helping. After getting naked and ready to shower, we realised the water was not running and where we were was a staff area that obvious had been turned off and disconnected. Searched the whole hostel and no where could we find a public shower (for people in the big dorms to use).

No staff after 9pm. Bad experience.
