“Busy and popular”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2013

We bought a take-away pizza for dinner the night we were in Bergen. Peppes was very busy so we knew that it might take a while. We decided to chose the 6 toppings we got on our pizza, but were disappointed when we got back to the hotel to find only 3 toppings we chose on the pizza and 3 others that we didn't choose. Luckily we have no food allergies and could laugh about it. No point taking it back, we would have had to wait another 45 minutes. Not a bad pizza.

“Who Knew?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

There really is quite good pizza in Norway of all places. Peppes, while not authentic or fancy, is a hopping place with lots of choices. We got a pizza with some nice veggies to go and ate up on Mount Floyen, a great option for a relatively inexpensive picnic, with hot food and everything. Delicious!

“Average food, excellent service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2013

We arrived here on day 1 of our honeymoon, exhausted from the delays we had encountered at the airport. We received very good service and the server was genuinely enthusiastic when we explained that it was the start of our honeymoon. She went out of her way to make our evening special.

The food was average -- 325 NOK for us to split a large Greek salad and a medium tropical (Hawaiian) pizza. It was "Chicago style" but the crust wasn't very thick at all.

It appears to be a chain restaurant. Like most places in Bergen, it is expensive, but the service we received really made it stand out. We probably wouldn't visit again, but did enjoy ourselves.

“Slow service and filthy!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

Location is the only thing going for this place, however the rest leaves a lot to be desired! The waitress seated us outside, the chairs were covered in crumbs and the cushions were rumpled with cigaret burned blanket strewn across the seat. The waitress failed to give us menus. Finally another waiter brought us the menus after about ten minutes. We were too preoccupied with the view at first to mind. After our order was taken, we waited aprox 45-55 minutes for the food to arrive! All we had ordered was pizza. Eventually the food arrived and the vegetarian pizza tasted nice but I'd never return to have again. The toilets upstairs smelt dirty and of pee. Not very clean at all. This seemed to be a running theme. Other people's tables were dirty and not cleaned between guests. Makes on wonder what the kitchen is like! With that and the snail paced service, I'd give this place a thumbs down!

“Disappointing pizza”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2013

The best thing about this restaurant was its location and the fact that it was open late (as we arrived in Bergen mid evening and needed to find somewhere to eat quickly).
But £21 for a very mediocre pizza for one seems extortionate. The pizza base was very thin and so dry that the edges of the pizza were flaking. Would not eat there again..........
