This is a new and chic place in town, a mix of books, restaurants, cafes and different cultural happenings goes on here.
We tried out the cafe-part of the Colonialen, which has a beatiful decor (very scandinavian with a french/italian twist to it). You can see into the brasserie-part that cooks up a storm for dinner, the large floor to roof wine cellar, and the large windows provides natural light into the large room. We had a tasting menu of cheeses and cold cuts, great! Service is very good too.
Atmosphere is wonderful, and it`s a beautiful place for families as well as friends hanging out or for a romantic dinner. You won`t regret it. Just a short walk from Bryggen, and into charming Skomakerstredet (shoemaker street that is). Would go again!
