We booked a room for 4 people. 2 kids and 2 grown ups.
Family suitell. 2 Big beds. But no space for the clothes for 4 people.
The reception is very friendly, full score. The price....
Yes we are in Norway, very expensive. I expected a more spacious room for 3200 NOK/night
Location. No better place in Bergen. Breakfast included for all four of us.
Supper also included, but not good followed up and became very empty......
Room is dusty, cleaning could be much better
Shower, saving water for this price ? Stordalen ar you kidding ?
I want to be wet when I take a shower. Shower hose was disgusting and a new one should
have been installed for long time ago

Room Tip: My suggestion is not go to Bergen if not necessary, if for fun go somewhere else

Great location on the water and in the old town. Meals were very good both breakfast and dinner included. Maintenance of this hotel in serious need of attention. We stayed in one of the tower rooms, and "upgrade"....but walls behind the curtains literally crumble when you touch them, mirror fell off the wall when my husband brushed past it and the electrical systems were developed before anyone had iPhones, iPads, etc. to charge. When you turn the lights off, all of the outlets turn off so when wake up thinking your gadgets are all charged, they are all dead!

All of that said, service was good, staff was very nice and accomodating

we had stopped at the clarion in Oslo and was not dissappointed with the Havnekontoret. It really is worth the extra money to stay in this hotel. the wall has signed plaques of various stars who have stayed here. the breakfast is good and again the afternoon pancakes are well worth an attempt. the hotplate is in use on a morning as you can cook your own bacon and eggs.Enjoyed being at the heart of the sightseeing area looking out .

This was the first hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The staff were great, breakfast and the included light dinner were high quality and there was always plenty of choice. Although the dinners are described as 'light' we ate here as our main evening meal each night with no problems. The location was really really great - just off Bryggen and overlooking the harbour.

There is a bus that goes directly from the airport and stops almost right outside the hotel door.

We especially enjoyed the ability to borrow DVDs from the library and watch them in our room, and the 360 degree viewpoint that you can access from the 6th floor. Great views!

Hotel was very nice - room was quiet small but v confortable (room 512) - location is perfect: close to the old town (Bryggen is next door!) and the bus from the airport leave you outside the main entrance. The staff was also friendly. Breakfast was good, we had the joy to learn that they offer free of charge pancakes between 3 -6pm and dinner from 6-9 pm :-) This is great as food is expensive in Norway... and also perfect with us who came with our baby girl. They also provided us free of charge a babybed which was nice and we forgot to book it in advance.

We stayed for one night after completing the Norway in a Nustshell tour. When we checked in, the receptionist told us to make sure that we ask for the pass to take the elevator to the tower tomorrow during the day. The next day, we went up to the tower. The view of Bergen is fantastic!! We saw Bergen in a way that few people get to see. Thank goodness that the young woman mentioned this to us.

The hotel itself is a former office building. As has been stated, some of the rooms have views while others do not. The lack of view certainly did not detract from our enjoyment of the hotel. The lobby has several very lovely seating areas. They were comfortable and used by guests throughout our visit. We fully utilized the meals offered by the hotel. For snack in the afternoon was make your own pancakes. (I saw one man go to the kitchen door and knock. The chef came out. The man explained that he did not know what to do. So, the chef came out and made the man's pancakes for him.) With the raspberry topping, they were delicious. In the morning, the same griddle is available to make your own fried eggs and bacon. Or, if you prefer, there are scrambled eggs, fruit, vegetables available. Dinner was equally good. In very expensive Bergen, using the hotel's buffets was extremely helpful to the budget.

The rooms were large for Europe and very clean. Bedding was comfortable. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Not only was the hotel top notch in all its services, the outstanding operations manager, Roza Linn Lygre, found our camera battery charger & case and SIM cards that we had left behind in our room and mailed it us promptly. She is a great example of outstanding customer service.

The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. We appreciated that the hotel was non-smoking also--and the Internet access was included in our room rate. The location was perfect for walking and it is right next to the harbor side Radisson Hotel so the airport bus (it runs every 15 minutes) dropped us off at the front door. The viewing tower at the top gave us a great view of the entire city and the hills around Bergen. The old staircase from the original hotel (1918?) was quite dramatic, and we enjoyed reading the historical information on the posters in the stairwell.

This hotel is also an unbelievable bargain in terms of the meals that they serve--all included in your room rate. In the afternoon, they offer make it yourself crepes with lots of delicious toppings (sour cream, raspberry sauce, etc.). And you can make as many crepes as you wish. The tip on cooking your own is to wait for the bubbles in the batter to pop before you flip the pancake. The popping bubbles tell you that the bottom side has baked long enough.
Coffee and tea are also free all day long.

The hotel advertises a 'light' dinner but the buffet was quite expansive and there was more than enough to eat. There were a variety of six different pasta dishes, rice and beef curry, veggies, lentils, couscous, potato salad, breads, condiments, and much more. You can eat as much as you like.

The breakfast buffet was also large, varied and delicious. Eggs, bacon, breads, fruits, and brownies (my kind of breakfast food). You can fill your kit bag with bananas and apples for your mid-morning snack too. Every meal offered selections for vegetarians too, so no one feels left out. Considering the normal price of meals in Norway, this hotel is a stunning bargain.

The hotel offers free DVD watching for your room, and they have a library of books that guests can borrow to read. Interestingly, despite the ambiance of the hotel being family friendly, the brochure in the room offered massages (for hire) with 'guaranteed happy endings for both men and women'. I have traveled all over the world in over 50 countries, and this was the first time I have ever seen a tasteful, color brochure offering that type of massage.
