Very nice hotel in a great location in Bergen just on the docks an a stone from the city center. We spent two nights over easter and really enjoyed the quality of the service, the bedding, cleanliness and overall atmosphere.

Also the rooms have dvd players and you can borrow dvd for free at the reception. This proved to be nice for a break after the sight seeing (it was too cold to continue outside for longer!).

Hotel also has a very convenient SAS airport shuttle at its' door step which was nice and cheap way to get to our flight (100NOK one way).

Overall very pleasant experience. Despite the funky kitch furniture!

This hotel is situated next to the historic centre of Bergen and minutes walk to the funicular, harbour, city centre, etc. Our room 606 was on the top floor and featured glass enclosed bathroom, double bed, skylight windows, tv and seating area. A good sized room was complimented by heated floors, accessories and mini bar. The hotel offers free breakfast, pancakes at 3pm tp 6pm and light evening meal (hot and cold dishes) 6pm onwards. This is very useful as Bergen is uber expensive and as they cater for large cruise ships usually sub+standard pizzas and kebabs. There is free wifi throughout and staff were great, helping us choose a nice room, printing boarding passes, extending check out to 2pm at no cost. All in all if coming to Bergen stay here as so many famous people have (Kanye West and Rhianna to name a couple) and thank you to Bianca very helpful to weary travellers.

The Hotel is wonderful, clean, silent and in excellent position, near center and storic sides, near bus stop for every where, really good...but.... actually very strange furnishings, very kitch!!!! Someone maybe likes it.... The hall, the rooms, large, clean and perfect, are in a modern style but dark, bleak....black, brown and purple (!!!), something disquieting, maybe russian orthodox style..? Staff is really wonderful, always.
Breakfast and dinner..... very rich, good but...must be very enhanced.... lot of foods but I would appreciate local and typical food, fish above all, and not this strange international food with taste of not norvegian cooks.... Well, to enhance.
Last: attention!!! Beware, some room has transparent glass door at the bathroom, quite embarassing!!! Ask before and good stay!!

This hotel wins top stars for its super location next to the Hanseatic quarter, its truly great staff, and its value to the traveller. We stayed in a corner room with a view of the harbor that was wonderful--large by European standards, very sleek. The desk staff at check in were, I believe, the nicest we've experienced anywhere in our travels thus far (I think some other reviews mention that also). Additionally, the hotel offers, in addition to breakfast, pancakes in the late afternoon and a light supper buffet (perhaps one pasta dish, lots of cold cuts) which really bailed us out not once but twice. The hotel is built over and around what used to be the customs house, so there is a lovely old cellar room with a beautiful ceiling in which to relax in the evening, and a tower from which the ships used to be spotted coming into port that offer a fine view of Bergen. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in this very interesting city.

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a corner room looking over the harbor. There may be some noise in the evening...

Stayed there two nights and liked it a lot. Got a room with twin beds at first and wanted to change this in to a double bed. The lady in the reception helped me out without hesitating, really appreciate such service. (Make sure to request a double bed when booking the room) The room I then got was a good size room, really liked the DVD player feature. The TV was a bit small though. Bathroom was nice, and the bed very comfortable.
They have this buffet thing in the evening which is nice if you want to eat in.
Staff was really nice and pleasant and helpful. the hotel is conveniently located at the Bryggen old town of Bergen.

Will come back!!!

Room Tip: 508 nice room with a view of the "fløyfjell" mountain. Double bed and nice bathroom. Heate...

This is a great hotel. You can catch the airport bus to the door. It's right in the old town, good for short walks around - but you can scurry back to warm up :)

The staff are very helpful & friendly. I booked for an extra night bec we were catching the cruise boat that left at 22.30, & when I checked out at 7pm (instead of the next day ) they only charged me for half a day. Very impressive.

Delicious buffet breakfast with every imaginable food in endless supply.

I wanted to make Valentines really special this year. I saw that Havnekontoret had a special Valentines offer, so I decided to take them up in it. I contacted the lovely personnel and explained how I wanted to make this a very special day.
She immediately came up with some ideas that realy would make this a Valentine to remember. She arranged a great room, with a tub, she put in some candles, and had some bubbles ready after me and my girlfriend had been to diner. Needless to say, my girlfriend was really impressed!

Best stay I ever had at a hotel, and the service was so phenomenal I have no words. They really made this a perfect stay.
