We stayed here in September for 4 nights and had the most amazing experience. The owners go out of their way - they picked us up at the train station, gave us a tour of the city and spent time making great recommendations. The space is small, but perfect for the 3 of us - complete with kitchen. We highly recommend and will be back for our next Bergen adventure!

We (a family of 4) stayed for 2 nights in this lovely guesthouse. The friendly owners couldn't do enough to help and had really thought about how to make things easier with the children. It was lovely staying in the old town and as the main town was so busy it was great to be able to get away from it. Having the small kitchen was useful and saved us a fortune as eating out in Norway is so expensive. The walk to the centre was easy and much closer than I expected even with a 3 year old in tow. Our initial e-mail did take along time to be answered but after this all correspondence was answered quickly and efficiently.

I recently stayed at Skuteviken Guesthouse for 3 nights in July 2013. It is located walking distance to the UNESCO world heritage site and the city centre. Its style is cosy, and it felt like I was 'home away from home'. The street is lined with similar style buildings, all white, wooden with an old world charm. The guesthouse was clean and the space was appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped and attached to a living space with large sofa bed, TV and coffee table and this was adjacent to the bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom large and had heated flooring! The owners were welcoming and informative. For its location, cleanliness and charming style I highly recommend Skuteviken Guesthouse!

Situated in an original house in the old town of Skutiveiken near the docks in Bergen. For a person from Britain the idea of a guest house that does not serve breakfast takes some getting used to, but this seems quite routine in Scandinavia, The experience of staying in a typical Norwegian 'Old Town' wooden, terraced house was enjoyable. As in all of these homes, the stairs are narrow, steep and winding. The rooms are small [the bed went from wall to wall and needed to be climbed across]. It was interesting to think that the 3 small rooms we occupied were probably home to a family of 10 or more originally.
The owners of Skuteviken Guesthouse are very friendly and helpful, particularly with tips on what to see and where to eat.

Skuteviken guesthouse is located in a residential area of Bergen, metres from the coast and a pleasant 5 minute stroll to the city centre. The room we stayed in was spacious with a large bathroom (with heated floor), good sized living area and well-equipped kitchen area.

On arrival we were met by Solveig who made us feel very welcome and gave us an introduction to the local area as well as recommending some local places to eat.The room was spotlessly clean with a large modern television and sofa, and free wi-fi was available.

We spent 3 nights here in early June in a cute studio on the first floor. The place was fairly easy to find, especially if you pay attention to the owners directions on the website.
The owners were present when we turned up c. 3pm, and spent some time showing us how to get to town, the names of a couple of restaurants, and some other general tips. The rooms consisted of a small living kitchen area, a reasonable sized bed with individual duvets, and a decent shower room. The room had pleasant decorations with paintings and other arty pieces. The kitchen was adequately supplied except there was no toaster which was surprising and disappointing. One other thing, in case you wonder- there is no washing machine, but this wasn't a big issue for us.
Bergen itself was an easy 10-12 minute walk and its a pleasant walk through the park.
When we left we had left a note the previous day asking the owners if they could book a cab for us, which they duly did, and this all worked out fine.
All in all a great stay and we would recommend this place. We paid Nok 1,000- per night (all in), and you pay on arrival (cash or card).

Room Tip: Ask for the first floor if you hate narrow stairs or have a lot of luggage

Just a bus stop away near the fish market and tourist center in Bergen is this quaint shabby chic family owned Bed and Breakfast. It is not too difficult to find as we first thought it was going to be since it was raining and we were getting confused with the public transpo. It is even a decent walk from the main part of town with a shortcut through the park near the castle.

We were received by the owner himself and he helped us get our stuff into the B&B and eventually up to our room as well. He gave us great recommendations of what to do in the short stay we were going to be there: where to go, what to eat, what to expect - all in a very friendly and funny manner. Very personalized and very welcoming - a very warm feeling to walk into from the cold rain outside into such a nice home.

The room was nice and clean and the bathroom even had a heated floor. Small but cozy and felt like a real home. There was a small kitchen which I wish I had more time with since all the ingredients in Bergen are so fresh and would be lovely to cook with!

With such a nice place, I would not have minded staying longer.

I highly recommend staying here.
