We stayed at 2 dotre apartments connected to the hotel. We had booked a fjord cruise online, during our stay in Bergen. We needed to print out our tickets but didn't have access to a printer. The receptionist at the hotel offered to print them out for us. The hotel also stored our luggage for us on our last day until our evening flight, which enabled us to spend more time sightseeing.

What a lovely hotel. Spacious room with balcony and great views over the park and to mountains beyond. Comfortable beds and small but nice bathroom with good shower. Plenty of choice for breakfast, Drinks available at all times in the lounge. Well worth the 10 minute walk up hill from the city. Very enjoyable stay

A real gem.
Lovely, quiet hotel - very friendly helpful staff.
Yes, it’s up a bit of a hill, but worth it.
Tip - if walking up Strømgaten from the station (bus or train) following satnav directions - don’t bother going the loop round Harald Hårfagres gate - go up the steps at the end and Parkveien 22 is on the right at the top.

I stayed at this family owned, family staffed hotel for two nights, and enjoyed every minute my stay.

I was welcomed by hospitable staff, in this gem of a 19-th century town villa. The architecture has been preserved, with high ceilings and marvelous interior details. Unfortunately, access for wheelchair seems problematic, and there is no lift if you are in need of one. Except for that, I would imagine that anyone would be able to enjoy a stay in this quiet, yet central, part of Bergen. The room was clean, and cosy; if you are used to American rooms, you might find it small, but it was not cramped, and accomodated a double bed, in addition to a recliner and a desk for work. The beds were comfortable, and it was easy to regulate the heating (although the old radiators took a while to heat up). WiFi worked without problems, and the room was complete with iron and iron board. The breakfast was served in a fantastic dining room, and was simple, but fresh and tasty. It was very nice to meet the owner with a bucket of paint and a brush, demonstrating the authentic and genuine interest in preserving and caring for this wonderful old building. That it was very affordable was a further plus. I felt at home!

Room tip: I stayed on the second floor, and had a charming view of the onlooking park.

Steens hotel offers ver comfortable and cozy rooms and its within less than a Km from the Bergen Station. The Bryggen Husefield are also nearby. There is a beautiful mini pond in front of the hotel with fountains and Swans - the atmosphere is so very refreshing! The hotel exudes a touch of Gothic architecture - particularly the restaurant with its stained glass windows and high ceilings.
The breakfast is also yummy with a wide array of options to choose from - for veg and on-veg alike. The staff are very very polite and courteous. I'd love to be back again and would definitely recommend to anyone considering it - close your eyes and go ahead.

Room tip: Choose room with window opening next to the pond
