We stayed here for two nights during a weekend in July. The hotel is very centrally located, but when arriving by car there was nowhere to park just outside. Instead we parked at St Olav’s Plass just a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel. Parking was free on Sundays and after 16.00 on Saturdays (otherwise 15 NOK/hour).
There was nice staff at the reception and check-in was efficient. Our room was on the top floor and it was very small with a sloping roof. The only window was a very small one in the sloping ceiling, so we had no view of Ålesund but only saw the sky outside. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was some kind of ventilation/air-condition that was blowing air into the room constantly, too much based on my preference, and that could not be switched off. The bathroom was relatively large and had proper shower walls keeping the rest of the bathroom floor dry while showering. There was good lighting both in the room and the bathroom. Wifi worked well in the room and was faster than in most of the other hotels we stayed at in Norway. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, as well as free coffee and tea downstairs in the lobby.

The breakfast buffet was among the best ones we had during our two weeks’ holiday in Norway. There was a large selection of food, for example different types of very tasty bread, ham, cheese, vegetables, different types of cereal, nuts and seeds, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fresh juice. There was also salmon and herring as well as eggs, bacon, sausages, beans in tomato sauce. They even had a waffle iron and a bowl with waffle batter so that you could make your own waffles, and these were the tastiest waffles we ate during this holiday (probably because they had rolled oats in the batter).More
