“What a great view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while on a business trip, the one thing that stands out is the view... I have never experienced views like it!

The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful however the rooms were very basic and if you want to iron a shirt you have to go to a room on the top floor.

Stay here for the view alone....

Fantastic quiet location with amazing views. Very close to city center. Rooms well equiped and most of them have beautiful view towards the mountains and the sea. Very good breakfast. One minor thing, Norwegians in general need to learn what customer service can be. Not much to complain about here, but we are lagging. If you are visiting Molde, try this hotel and make sure to ask for a room facing south.

Room Tip: Choose oldest building, high floor and face south.

The breakfast buffet at Rica Seilet was probably the best I've ever had at any hotel, and would be reason enough to choose this hotel. The view was also very nice, both from my room and from the restaurant. This is the closest you can get to staying on a boat without actually being on one.

The cleanliness was not too bad, but there was room for improvement. Some of the less visible surfaces were quite dusty, I found nail clipping in my chair and stains on the bathroom floor. The breakfast and the view combined was so good, however, that I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to others.

You cannot talk about this hotel without mentioning the view. Each of the rooms has a huge window that is angled for a spectacular view of the fjord. The room was comfortable and I slept well, although the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together with two single duvets on it - I didn’t mind as I was there by myself, but if I was sharing this would not be ideal. There was also no iron provided in the room. However, there was a large television and an excellent wireless internet connection.
The breakfast in the hotel is excellent, with a huge variety of things to choose from, so you are catered for whether you want a cooked breakfast, cereal or a selection of breads. While you are eating your breakfast, you can continue to appreciate the view.
As a vegetarian, the breakfast was fine as I could choose what I wanted; however, one evening there was a function hosted up in the Skybar, and there seemed to be meat or fish in everything so I ended up mostly eating bread. Possibly the trip organisers had not passed on that there was a vegetarian on the trip, so it may not be the hotel’s fault, but I was quite hungry afterwards.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming though, with very good English.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room in the main building for the spectacular view

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times.

The Norwegian "burj al arab" aren't as luxuary as the one in Dubai, but the designers has looked to Dubai, when building the hotel!

The staff is polite, and helpful. And check inn is smooth.
I got a room with sea view this time, and it's great to sit down and look at the things happening in the harbor.

The rooms are clean and nice, the bathrooms and shower is also good.

The restaurant on the second floor in this hotel is the best of this hotel, last time I visited it I ate Lutefisk (dried cod treated with lye). And it's one of the better meals with Lutefisk I've had.

The breakfast is also served on the restaurant, and keeps good Rica standard. It's great and I'm always happy to eat breakfast at a Rica hotel!

Room Tip: Get a room with sea view!
