“Beautiful part of the world”

Brought back many childhood memories of visits to the Mumbles and convinced my husband of the beauty of this part of Wales. Bring comfortable shoes for walking down to the beach/coastal path. The bright, nicely decorated conservatory makes the bungalow with its views over the hills. The bed is so comfy I didn't want to get up the first morning (but would have missed the stunning scenery otherwise). I think Mumbles/the Gower is the most dog-friendly place I've ever been to, it's lovely for us to be able to take Poppy to places without having to leave her outside (the Mermaid particularly stands out as a restaurant), and of course there are lovely walks to keep them entertained. We hadn't got the key code on arrival but I contacted Paula and this was sorted out straight away. Unfortunately our boat trip was cancelled due to the windy weather but we drove to the stunning Three Cliffs and Oxwich and hope to return to visit further up the coast. Many thanks.

“All you need for kids in Mumbles”
Reviewed 3 April 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We came at the end of March 1st week of April so the weather was a bit tempramental! ( although being Britain thats the norm :)) The Chalet is in a great spot for Walkers and Kids with easy access to the cliff paths to Langland and down into Mumbles. We are from the area but live in Germany and were back visiting Family and friends 2 streets away. So this was perfect for us. The chalet is clean and everything is there that you may need. Beds super comfy and the kids loved the Bunk beds. I cannot agree with previous comments re the bathroom. There was no problem with Water leaking out of the shower if you close the doors properly. Paula had very kindly provided us with pringles and a bottle of wine on arrival and the chalet had Tea coffee and all cleaning supplies there so no need to buy those. My only critique if any was we were there when the clocks went forward so unfortunately the heating didn't come on until 9 in the morning so a bit nippy when we got up and again later in the evening. However Paula has Super plugin heaters which worked superbly and we were toasty in no time. She even has the foresight for fluffy hot water bottles if needed which my daughter loved!! This however is probably not a problem when visiting in the Summer ( although again Britain who knows!!) Over all we loved it can highly recommend the new Indian delivery service MINT (we left a menu) if you have an evening where you can't go out or don't want to cook. Obviously being locals always love Johnnies fish and chips. We had 2 fabulous meals out. 1 was in MUNCH gorgeous food and Bring your own Wine fab 3 course meal for 50 quid! Also had a nice meal in Bistro Pierre although be prepared for the French take being carried through shared toilets!! Not for the faint hearted!.
However a lovely break back "Home" for us in a cosy chalet which ticked all the boxes for us.

“Oh Dear Not as good as its description”
Reviewed 27 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

When we arrived and opened the door the bungalow smelt damp and it was freezing cold as the heating had not been put on. There were cob webs hanging from the ceilings and the bathroom sink had not been cleaned. When the central heating finally kicked in three radiators did not work and I needed to bleed them to get heat. If it had not been for the fact that we had travelled down from Scotland for a wedding on the Saturday I would normally have walked out and found somewhere else to stay. The bungalow looks tired and is in need of a good clean and possibly redecoration, the pictures are nothing like what you are walking into. There is vertical blinds on the lean-to in the bedroom but these let light poor in and we found ourselves awake at about 5:30 each morning. There was one plus side and that was the mattress which was very comfy. Sorry we will not be back.

Management Response
23 May 2018
This review is untrue and malicious. The visitors made no complaint whatsoever during their stay. The bungalow was painted throughout at the beginning of March some two weeks before the visitors arrived. I cleaned the property myself and it was left fresh and spotlessly clean. Each of the radiators is in full working order.

This was a great location for visiting my son who is at the University. Great dog walks as the entrance to the coastal path is opposite the bungalow. I was travelling alone with my dog and felt safe and comfortable at the property.

“Good for a weekend stay”
Reviewed 26 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Location is great as few hundred yards from Bracelet Bay. You can easily walk to the centre of Mumbles via the seafront or roadway. Very good position for travelling about and Patricks Restaurant plus Castellamare highly recommended. Also Verdis on the seafront. Joes Ice Cream shop was heaven.
Only gripes were: On accessing the bungalow, we found the bathroom was extremely cold, the stone floor tiles were uncomfortable underfoot also. In the 'living room' area, there was a lit spotlight hanging from the ceiling when the lights were on. Looked as though it had been there a long time.
Apart from that, everything was hunky dory and we very much enjoyed our stay
