It has been refurbished since last visit and now is fresh and tastefully decorated.Rooms and added touches are fine and welcoming as are all the staff.
Ideally located for sorties into Gower,hassle free parking and good breakfast.
Nothing negative wouldn't hesitate to return.
We stayed in Norton House as it was in the centre of Mumbles. The hotel is very clean with clean bedrooms & a very clean bathroom . The staff are all very friendly and accommodating . This is a superb 3 star hotel & great value & close to the sea.
Just arrived home from an overnight stay in this hotel, for my boyfriend’s birthday. We were greeted at reception and check in was easy, before being shown to our room (number 14 on the ground floor). Because we booked direct, we were open to plenty of perks such as late checkout (which we took full advantage of - we could check out at 1pm), discounts on food and drinks, etc. We had a standard room which was lovely, plenty of room and the bathroom was very clean. The bed was very comfy and the shower was very powerful. Only downfall with the bathroom is that there is a fan that makes quite a noise when you turn the light on, but goes off shortly after turning the light off. And with the shower, it also made a loud noise at first, stopping after about 2 minutes, but didn’t cause a problem. There is a kettle in the room with a selection of tea, coffee, not chocolate which we took full advantage of. We had a great sleep as the bed was comfy, the walls are quite thin so you can hear other people etc but this didn’t cause a problem for us. Check out was easy, and we were given a card detailing the perks of booking direct if we decide to stay again, which we definitely would! The hotel is a perfect location, as it’s right on the sea front. We also parked in the hotel which was free.
I booked this trip as a wind-down after my daughters wedding. This is an historic building with great character, not one of your modern chains; which is what I prefer. The hotel is located within five minutes walk of Mumbles and one minute from the prom. The rooms are fully equipped and very well finished, because of the nature of the building you won’t find things like double glazing and aircon but if you want that type of thing book a Marriot! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant generally excellent. This hotel is excellent value for money; don’t be put off by the three stars - it really merits four but as I say, the building itself precludes it due to lack of eg lifts/ level access to all floors etc
The only quibble was a bone or two in the fish cake which should not happen or at least the price deducted. But overall brilliant and we would definitely return again. Great breakfast too!
Nice hotel, and room, although I could hear the people using the bathroom next door clearly!
Our bathroom had some hairs on the floor and the toilet hadn’t been flushed before we arrived.
Other than that, for the price it was good value for money, and a very convenient pit stop for us visiting our family. We didn’t have breakfast as we had an early start.
