Description: The front room is a cafe which aims to be as relaxing and comfortable as your own front room. Situated on the sea-front in Mumbles, opposite Southend gardens and the children's playground, we offer delicious home-cooked food, really good coffee and scrummy home-baked cakes. Our all-day breakfast choices range from the front room big brekkie, french toast, smoked salmon and eggs, organic porridge and door-step bacon butties, all prepared using quality products which are locally sourced. Lunches range from hearty home-made lasagne to paninis, jacket potatoes and home-made soup. Children are well catered for too with our 'munchkins' menu, which includes great food they'll love from 95p! There's even a big box of toys, crayons and lego to keep them occupied. Our specialty is cream teas which are served on vintage china... a real treat. Whether it's for a cuppa with friends, a family meal or an afternoon treat... come and cosy up in our front room.

4 of us took advantage of the monthly evening dining offer and found the food, service, ambience and value for money to be of the highest order. 3 courses on a small menu was fine for our varying tastes. There was something for everyone. Very well presented. The restaurant is small, but not cramped and caters for around 20 to 25 people. A lovely evening in a quaint setting. We'll done to Vicky, the owner. We will return.

Welcoming staff and nice decor.
Had a cooked breakfast which was nice.
It was a dreary day outside but inside was uncomfortably hot!
All was clean but not overly memorable.

Based on the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to pop in on Sunday for lunch.
The restaurant is cosy and welcoming, and the staff very friendly.
Food is very much cafe style, with tarts, jacket potatoes etc.
I ordered a cuppuchino and when it arrived the cup had lipstick markings on one side. As the other side of the cup was clean, I decided not to cause a fuss.
Our food was average although their prices aren't.
Based on our experience, I can't understand why this is rated no 1 in Mumbles.

We were visiting the Mumbles for the day and made a good choice in going to this lovely little café (twice) first for morning coffee and then later in the day we had 'welsh rarebit' delicious the best we've tasted. The proprietor and staff were very friendly, chatty and welcoming. A must to visit if looking for a nice relaxed cuppa.
