Certainly not the first time that i have stayed at this hotel nor will it be my last. My story started whilst holidaying at another place which i reviewed as terrible. We were due to stay with my wifes family but circumstances changed. I was busy on various web sites trying to find and book altetnative accomodation. However, as my wife is a Malaysian citizen there was no need for her to have to pay the RM10 daily tax. So, we drove down to the Mercure and enquired at the reception desk, known as "walk in". Everyone was so helpful, it was to be a long term package totalling 21days.
It turned out far cheaper than any of the booking websites could match!!!
Our room, ocean view, fourth floor had great views, it was slightly on the small size but more than adequate for the 3 of us. Beds were clean and comfortable, towels of good quality changed daily. Shower only but body, hair shampoo and hair conditioner all provided by handy dispentioners.
Breakfasts were varied, interesting, plenty of choice. Even though we were there for a total of 21days we as a family enjoyed good hearty breakfasts.
Apart from the hot water in the flask for tea making just wasn't boiling to make that perfect "cuppa".

ALL THE STAFF were 1st class, friendly, helpful, smiling, they contributed to making our long stay very enjoyable. Our stay was split in two separate stays as we went up to Thailand for 10days. Our 2 suitcases were left at the Mercure locked away nice and secure. Not a problem at all. Our return late evening we were met by friendly staff welcoming us back like long lost friends, they even gave us our previous room. Suitcases duly delivered from their storage to our room in perfect condition.
My last visit at this hotel formaly known as Four Points, I found the lifts wanting and were not that good a point i also made at that time to the management. Who to their credit agreed but it woukd be costly to update. Now these lifts have been renewed and obviously computer controlled, you need your "door key" to gain access to your floor and I noticed a smoothness in their operation with very little time wasted waiting for a lift/elevator.
All in all a pleasant experience, great location friendly staff, clean rooms, great facilities, good restaurant, good food local and western, for me what more could i ask for.
Well done to all.
Yes, i will be going back again.More
