Just been back for my fourth stay at the Tamarind (and going back again in August!) The hotel staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous room overlooking the sea. It was a special trip and the General Manager, Kim looked after us really well. The beach is fantastic. Every time I visit, further thoughtful touches have been added - a pontoon to swim out to, personal bar and food service to your sunlounger and free water at the bar. The breakfast is lovely and the staff make it special. They think of everything. Smile - you are in paradise!!

Room Tip: Higher floors with a sea view are best.

We came all the way from Australia and this place didn't disappoint. Welcoming petal heart on our bed plus complimentary wine, chocolates & nibbles. Superb ocean view. Lovely staff. Only criticism was the room service pizza and too short beds. But it was comfy. Love this place

We have been to most Caribbean Islands over the years and this was our first to Barbados. Selection of Tamarind came as a result of an extensive research, as we have planned our 50th wedding anniversary with another couple that we shared the same length of marriage. The selection of Tamarind was most rewarding, just the ideal place. Great accommodation, beautiful beaches, great food, but the absolute highlight for all of us was the people - the friendliest staff, without exception. We stayed is the ocean-view front, stunning (room 224). Rihanna has an house next door and the Sandy Lane Resort is just a short walk along the beach, they all know what location means and you get it for fraction of the cost.

Remember your in the Caribbean so unless you have millions to spend take it in your stride, however you cannot buy what Tamarind has - Awesome Staff !! - the rooms are Ok, the beach is Ok, the position is Ok, the food is good but it's the Staff that make this hotel special. I will be back soon.

I have recently got back from my stay at the Tamarind and what a great place to stay! The service is exceptional, with a rum punch on arrival. The beach and location were superb and the rooms were very comfortable, with great storage facilities.

My only grumble would be the room service menu - there wasn't a great selection on it. But then I suppose this is to encourage guests to eat in the restaurant. Moving on to the restaurant, whilst the food was nice, I felt it was overpriced compared to the quality of food at similarly priced restaurants nearby.

Also, if you have a room above the restaurant, the bands can be quite loud but these are generally finished around 10pm. Might not be so great if you have young children with you though - or trying to sleep off the jet-lag!

Tamarind Cove Hotel is beautifully situated at the white, sandy beach of Paynes Bay. The hotel was refurbished a few years ago and the beachside dining area is a big improvement to the previously indoor/outdoor dining hall. The rooms are specious and if you book a room with a seaside view you will get a magnificent view over the garden, beach, the sea and the breathtaking Caribbean sunset. The food is very good and the staff friendly and attentive. This is a hotel to return to ( which we now have done for the ninth time). The Tamarind comes highly recommended.

The staff and service at this hotel are possibly the best I have come across. The facilities and small touches make your stay really relaxing and enjoyable.
However, the buildings, rooms and amenities, whilst clean and cosmetically up to date - are in need of an overhaul. The loungers at the beach and pools are lovely, new, clean and comfortable. The beds in the rooms are large and luxurious. The wifi connection is fantastic in rooms and throughout the property. In room air con is great.
But the rooms themselves, whilst clean and well structured, are old. The bathrooms have had cosmetic renovation but the baths, basins, toilets and tapware are old.
Also the food is 3 star. The variety is great but the quality and presentation of breakfast is average (although to be fair probably 4 star). But I was particularly disappointed with the upscale restaurant which has an amazing location and ambience (deck overlooking the beach) but the food is really average, not good value for money.
The spa menu and treatment are fantastic (arguably 5 star), but the amenities are at best 3 star. So it takes away from the overall experience.
