This is our third year at the Tamarind, and we've included our daughters wedding this year on our recommendation. We arrived and was greeted by a number of the staff as though we were long lost friends, which was really nice. The accommodation is outstanding, as is the whole hotel. The breakfast offers everything you could possibly want, and too a very high standard. My favourite, without a doubt, is the Corn Beef Hash, brilliant!!
The wedding day started with rain, but turned into the ideal day, the red sunset made the pictures on the beach look beautiful. I would like to make a special mention of Steve Cumberbatch, the photographer, he was excellent, and I would highly recommend him to everyone who intends to have their wedding on the island. The photographs were followed by the best meal ever. All the food at all the meals during the week are excellent, but the wedding meal was out of this world. The staff were so attentive and nice, I would like to thank Argyle and his team personally.
I would like to make special mentions of Dwaine, Alicia, Dion, Tito, Joseph and all your chefs. I would like to thank all of them, they are all so nice and helpful. We will see you all next year and maybe again this year.

Room Tip: We have tried the ground floor, poolside by the water sports area, plus the ground floor by the lawn, each one was excellent. Our group stayed in different locations and they were all very happy with their rooms.

Having visited Barbados most years in the last twenty, this was our first trip to Tamarind. On the West Coast at Paynes Bay, the unassuming exterior hides a wonderful holiday hotel, beach and gardens.

The unique selling point of the hotel is the superlative quality, friendliness and helpful nature of all the staff. Each and every one of the staff are a great credit to the hotel and Kim, the manager.

Staying on a full board package, we returned heavier than we wished but enjoyed the excellent quality of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I have seen, with the inimitable Ether cooking omlettes and eggs to order.

Our room was needed on check out day. Not a problem for Tamarind. We we given a complimentary, freshly prepared room to shower and change before we departed.

The quality, preparation and presentation of the food was as good as many of the 'gourmet' restaurants in Barbados. A lot of local fish and vegetables, with delicious soups. There is a varied programme of evening meals with a buffet lunch and buffet dinner once each week. Nicholas, the executive chef supervises personally, and he and his brigade are wholly responsible for our weight gain!

Great room with a sea view, and although the bed was very comfortable, it did seem a little short, but very wide. Our room was fresh and clean, and was serviced twice daily with bottled water left in the room each evening. The quality of the housekeeping was excellent. The bathroom was perfectly functional, but a little tired and not up to the same standard as the rest of the accommodation.

The beach staff were attentive, spoiling us with chilled moist face cloths, chilled fresh fruit and ice lollies during the course of each day. There was no shortage of loungers and clean towels on the beach and around the pools.

Good quality live entertainment each night. Eyan deserves a special mention as an excellent guitarist.

Remarkably, the free Wi-Fi worked everywhere in the hotel and on the beach.

If water sports are your thing, these are complimentary!

On the day we checked out, our room was needed. No problem for Tamarind. We were given a clean, freshly prepared room to shower and change in before we departed.

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms open onto the pool area and might be noisy in the evening when the live entertainment is playing. There are no lifts, so those with mobility needs or buggies might choose a ground floor room. Away from the main pool and restaurant on the ocean side away from the road are quieter

I cannot understate how wonderful this hotel is, it provided the most beautiful setting for the first part of our honeymoon for 8 nights before heading off to New York.

Located on a beautiful beach where you can also use the free water sports provided by the hotel, this place is paradise. With 3 swimming pools also located on site, my wife and I spent most of our time relaxing around the hotel or on the beach, and on the times we did leave the hotel there is so much to see and a brilliant culture and vibe to soak up.

We have had an incredible honeymoon for so many reasons - the accommodation is splendid and incredibly comfortable - the location is stunning - and the staff are SENSATIONAL. I've never experienced service like it, every morning we were welcomed with a really warm 'Good Morning Mr & Mrs Underwood', and also asking about (and specifically recalling and naming) where you had gone the previous day, the staff make you feel so special. The people make the party and these guys would be top of my list every time.

The manager Neil is a really great guy and the guest liaison Marcia was fantastic too, but all the staff are about making sure your experience is the very best right through the team, special shout to Shontelle & Tito.

Guest wise it's a really nice mix, elderly couples, honeymooners, young families, all mix together and you never feel as though 'everyone here is a bit old' or 'it's full of kids'.

The restaurant is amazing, the prices are on the higher side but that's reflected in the quality, however, in Paynes Bay, there's enough places to mix up where you eat to cater for all budgets and the hotel will gladly call up and book for you and they do serve bar food which is cheaper if you want to stay on site. The buffet breakfast in the morning is very good, with a wide selection and omelettes made for you as you wait.

When we checked out and headed off to New York, we were both crying wanting to stay! We've never been back to the same place twice, but Neil said come back for an anniversary and do you know what we might even make it the 1st.

If you do go, make sure you plan in a Friday night in Oistins, where they grill fresh fish and a carnival atmosphere is created enjoy by locals and embraced by tourists. I also found a taste for Mount Gay Rum, the hotels Rum Punch was awesome and we enjoyed the tour of the distillery.

If you go, catch a Reggae Bus, you'll get a feel for the island for just a $1 and is a great experience as was sitting in one of the pods in the hotel gardens watching the sunset over the sea with waitress service from the bar.

Wonderful country, wonderful people and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel to spend our honeymoon in.

Absolutely outstanding service, extremely friendly staff. Went for a family holiday, stayed for two weeks. Top notch food, would recommend to families and couples alike. Two lovely pools, private beach and some free water sports. Special mentions must go to Alicia, Cheanne and Tio, lovely new friends and poolside+beach bar tenders and waiters.
P.S. make sure you get a braid from Angela, lovely lady, sells beach wraps and braids hair in peak seasons. DO NOT MISS THIS HOTEL FOR THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Just been back for my fourth stay at the Tamarind (and going back again in August!) The hotel staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous room overlooking the sea. It was a special trip and the General Manager, Kim looked after us really well. The beach is fantastic. Every time I visit, further thoughtful touches have been added - a pontoon to swim out to, personal bar and food service to your sunlounger and free water at the bar. The breakfast is lovely and the staff make it special. They think of everything. Smile - you are in paradise!!

Room Tip: Higher floors with a sea view are best.
