“Great location, terrible service”
Reviewed 17 September 2012

The two owners were rude throughout our weekend stay - they were always 'busy' and didn't seem willing to help. I think they were rushed as we were part of a very large group staying with them - they had plenty of notice of this, however, so could have taken on additional agency staff if they were likely to be overwhelmed.

No soap or towels were provided on either of the days - guests in other rooms had been provided with these.

The room was basic but reasonably clean - we had a good view of the pier as the hotel is right on the sea front.

The room could do with lined curtains to reduce the amount of light getting in - this would have helped me sleep much better.

I would definitely not stay again.

Fancied getting away for a night on bank holiday weekend, booked at last minute. Hotel was in a very good location near to pier, shops, restaurants etc. Hotel supplied parking voucher which was a pound and was valid until 11 the next day. Hotel was run by a lovely couple who were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was not modern but was kept well and was very clean. Our room did look like it had been painted recently. Breakfast was very nice but could have been larger portions. We would go back again for a short stay.

Basic hotel, with very good hosts. Stayed with my partner for the air show. Fantastic location. Room could do with a coat of paint but decent size. Hotels location is great for a stroll into town. Good pub The Bucaneer just down road away from seafront, very friendly staff team. Breakfast was minimal but decent fry up all the same. Would return as fairly good value for money.

Food was excellent

Very good hotels great to stay and lovely rooms very helpful friendly staff. Stayed here twice now and love it. The views from the seaview bedroom is fantastic and the information booklet in the room is really helpful. Great location close to restrauants and close to beach which is very useful.

Stayed here last weekend and found hotel to be clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. Within walking distance to Eastbourne town centre but on the corner of Carlisle Road which has two coffee bars, two chip shops, newsagent, pub and selection of restaurants. Ken the owner is very helpful and professional. Unfortunately my husband was taken ill and the staff were so kind and caring. If you are looking for boutique chic or lavish accommodation book elsewhere. If you require a clean, well run establishment at reasonable prices then The Alexandra Hotel fits the bill.
