We had a relaxing weekend staying at the Waterside hotel. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was well presented inside. There were a few stairs to get up to our room. Breakfast was good too with a full English and cereal included. Parking was ok to find outside the hotel.

We were much looking forward to our stay here, but it was really rather average and far from 'special' as the hype on their website had led us to expect.
Because of a booking muddle by staff, (which had been well-handled by manager Mark), we had been upgraded to the Sunset "ultimate ocean view suite". This turned out to be a large room with good seafront views and a couple of gimmicks such as a telescope and a roll-top bath taking up a lot of space in the room, which was well-worn and a bit tired. The shower room, although adequate, was cramped and poorly designed; far from "spacious". As for "pillow menu" and "range of G&S bathroom products"? We saw neither, although we checked with the only staff member around that the room had been properly made-up.
Breakfast offered good coffee and an adequate but far from special 'full English', but no fruit or yoghurt on the buffet or offered to us, although these were listed on the menu.
We were told by 'locals' that the place was up for sale, which may explain the impression we got that they were offering the bare contractual minimum they could get away with. "Pure luxury" it definitely was not. We were saddened by this as the staff we encountered were very pleasant, and deserve better.

My hubby annd I took advantage of a Groupon offer for two nights stay with full English breakfast included and were not disappointed. In fact, we were more than pleased with the choice we made. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, the room (a standard double) was a little on the small side but had everything we needed in it, so very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with the additional option of cereal and fruitjuice included. The location was perfect for our first visit to Eastbourne and we took full advantage of the local attractions, including the excellent value ice cream parlour opposite the sea front, just down from the hotel.
The weather stayed good for our visit, albeit a little cold. It certainly didn't stop us getting out and about and there is such a lot to see. We tood a sightseeing tour bus up to Beachy Head, the running commentary proved interesting and enlightening to us. Beachy Head is a 'must see', we would definately look to returning again one day - great weekend away in a lovely place. Thanks all

Great location, 5mins from pier on seafront. Good full English & coffee. Our double room was small but it was their basic double. Saw a glimpse of their main rooms (called Sunrise & Sunset) & they looked a lot bigger with big bay windows overlooking the beach. Staff were extremely helpful although when we booked in for 2 nights they should've told us we needed 3 car passes (£1 each day) as Sundays were chargeable, luckily we saw a sign on the Saturday. Didn't use the spa facilities or bar (nice little pub 3mins away with live music called Crown & Anchor). Overall we'd recommend this hotel at the right price as there's abundant competition in the area.

this was excellent value at only £55 per night, including breakfast. The room was nice. The staff both evening and morning were really helpful and friendly - even sorting out breakfast for us even though we were 15 mins late.

Lovely place. Jacuzzi room was beautiful. Location is lovely just a short walk from pier and 45 mins walk to beachy head. Rooms are comfortable and massages are lovely. The top marks are for breakfast..... lovely and just the right size. Some places serve obscene amounts for a full english but this breakfast was simple classic and more about quality over quantity.would highly recommend to anyone

We stayed for two nights in the sunrise room. The room was clean and pleasant but did not match the 'luxury experience' description on the website. It may have warranted it when it was first done but it is a bit tired now. Also the service was no more or less than you would expect from a seaside b&b but it did not 'exceed my expectations' as described on the website. The £150 a night cost for the room was also a bit too expensive in my opinion.

Having said that we had a nice break away and the free standing bath in the room was a big plus. Also the sea views were great and the location is ideal. Overall the Waterside was nice enough but was left feeling a little disappointed from what it was built up to be both on the website and on Tripadviser.
