Good location for shops, on sea front we were fortunate to have a sea view.
Restaurant service was very good. Enjoyed the food. Lifts very small for large hotel.

We had a long road trip before we got to this hotel almost 12 hours with Sheerings Coaches so a lot of people were not in the best of moods on arrival however the warmth, efficiency and helpfulness of the staff soon had people starting to feel better. Our cases were taken to our room so we had a quick wash and went down for our evening meal. Our waiter for the 5 days was Dan who was friendly and served us well at each mealtime. Later we enjoyed reasonable entertainment the biggest problem was the layout of the entertainment room but what can you expect in an old hotel. The hotel stands on the seafront near the pier and within walking distance of Beachy Head if you’re fit enough for the climb.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and again the cleaning staff were friendly and efficient we could have upgraded to a sea view but to me rooms are for sleeping in and just require a good standard of comfort. All in all we had an enjoyable few days and would return.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has been upgraded, the room at the front of the hotel have an excellent sea view

Thank you Ray S for taking time to leave a great review of your recent stay. The comments regarding the entertainments area are valid and this is something we are looking into sorting in the near future, with the introduction of a better sound system and large screens to help with viewing.
Thanks once again.

Just what we need for a weekend away from the four walls at home close enough to drive to and parking very good. Food was very good considering how many people are catered for and how cheap a weekend costs .we go at least a couple of times a year and are pleased with the service of all staff including the entertainment. The rooms are clean and comfortable although a little dated but again you get what you pay for and overall it is fantastic value

A very good hotel for the price we paid. (It was a good deal). The location is fantastic, directly on the seafront opposite the pier. The staff in the bar and the drinks waiters in the restaurant were excellent and we had a good laugh. The food is mass produced but was edible. Obviously not haute cuisine but perfectly acceptable. Our server, Timi, was very good and she looked after us. Unlike Miriam, who was surly and not at all customer centric. We were short of one spoon and although she was stood right next to us with a cutlery drawer, she said we had to ask our own server.

Thanks go to Alan c for a review of a recent stay. I pleased to read that you did experience the fantastic service and friendliness of the majority of my team . Timmi is delighted to see her name mentioned so favourably. The point made regarding another member of staff has been addressed and apologies are offered for the poor service. Have to agree the location of our hotel is fantastic and I'm pleased this enhanced your stay.

We went to this hotel on a self-drive Shearing's break. Our room was upgraded to a sea view, but I have to say the room and bathroom were both extremely tired. The floors creaked like an old Spanish galleon, the carpets were stained, the paintwork chipped and a battered old wardrobe sulked in the corner of the room. On the plus side, we did have the sea view, which was lovely and it was surprisingly quiet at night and we did not have problems sleeping. The bedding and towels were clean and the beds comfortable. Entertainment ranged from iffy to excellent over the four nights. Food was perfectly edible and good temperature and the service was efficient and friendly. Some were complaining about the quantity of food, but this is a bargain break and we considered it to be, all in all, extremely good value. The only big disappointment for me was to find the price of a bottle of Pinot Grigio (basic quality) has risen to £20 per bottle! So we just went down the road and tried out the local pubs and other hotels, where the maximum we paid was £14.50... It won't bother those only drinking one glass a night, but, if you are into bottles (...!!), it makes a big difference over 4 nights. We would definitely go again, but the hotel really does need an awful lot of money spent on it, especially on the bedrooms, which, as I said above, are very tired and in need of a complete overhaul.

We stayed here over Easter with our son and daughter-in-law. I cannot fault the staff as everyone was very friendly and helpful. The meals were good and the menu quite varied. Our bedroom was fine with the exception of a very old television with snowy picture to go with it! The bed was super comfortable and I slept extremely well. Sadly the bathroom was very tired with a cracked sink which is not acceptable even with the good value rates which we paid. The water was always hot and the room cleaned and made up very efficiently each day. I would not want to stay in this room, number 336, in Summer as it was over the kitchen and extremely hot. We opened the window and this did help. Overall we had a nice time and I am sure renovations are underway at The Burlington to bring it up to standard throughout

Room Tip: I think it would be worth the extra to have a sea view and if we stay here again we will do just tha...
