We visited Michelangelo's Eastbourne on a wintry evening and were greeted with a lovely warm welcome, really good food at excellent value from the specials menu , and superb attentive service.

“Pre-theatre Prize Spot”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

This was our second visit to Michelangelo's for a pre-theatre meal, this time before an afternoon rather than evening performance. We enjoyed tasty dishes from the set menu (£10.95 per person for three courses, with a complimentary glass of decent house wine). The ambience was pleasant and the service prompt but unpressured, enabling us to eat and drink in a relaxed way but finish in good time. With the discount voucher printed from the restaurant website, our bill was just under £20 (excluding service) and we added a well-deserved tip. We would certainly return here for pre-theatre meals and we hope in future to partake of a more leisurely, open-ended repast.

“One of Eastbourne's hidden gems”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

Having eaten in this restaurant a number of times over the past year or so I felt I must write a review to let people know what they are missing out on.

I have eaten from both the set lunch menu and the a la Carte, and on all occasions the meals have been excellent and great value. The food is always beautifully cooked, very well presented and full of flavour. This is all backed up by very friendly service in very comfortable and relaxing surroundings.

In addition there is a very extensive wine list but we always enjoy their excellent house wine.

If you want a traditional dining experience in Eastbourne with a Mediterranean flavour then Michelangelo's is the place for you!

“Excellent quality of food and value”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

There are many Italians in Eastbourne, and only a few are very good, Michelangelo is one. Unlike some of the others that spent their money on decor, Michelangelo has concentrated on the food. The decor is pleasent rather than cutting edge trendy.

Both the quality, taste and value was superb, my wife and I had the set lunch menu, having the veal and I had the risotto, both were packed with flavour and very well presented.

It is family run and very friendly service.

You can tell the quality of the restaurant, by the house wine and in this case was excellent.

We found the restaurant on the off chance, but will definitly return.
