“Freindly at least”
Reviewed 10 May 2013

Just returned from the Fairlands Hotel. O.k. maybe in need of some refurbishment, looking a little tired, but there are compensations. It is without doubt the friendliest hotel I've ever stopped at. The owners and staff will go out of their way to please you. When I arrived the room allocated had a bath, but no shower. Went to see the owner straight away and was moved immediately, with the minimum of fuss. The breakfast was really good and if you asked for any extras they were brought with a smile.
i know there is a lot needed doing to bring this hotel into the present day, but, go there enjoy the friendliness and ignore the minor irritations. At the end of the day for their price what do you expect. If you want 5 star with all the bells and whistles go and pay for it.

Room Tip: make sure you let them know if you need a shower, as rooms are 50/50 bath or shower.

We recently stayed at the hotel and we could not fault anything. All the staff from the manager Mr Lucky right down to the chamber maids were really friendly and could not do more for you.The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable. The food was excellent and to a very high standard that we had to send our compliments to the chef. The customer service that we received was 10 out of 10. The company quote from the brochure "Welcome to Fairlands you are special" could not be more true as we had a lovely stay at the hotel and were made to feel special. We would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for value for money and a very central situated hotel. We will certainly be booking again.

I recently returned from a long weekend at Fairlands , taking my mum who had always wanted to visit Eastbourne . I have to agree with some previous reviews , the hotel is very dated and could certainly do with a facelift , that said , our room was clean , the sheets white and crisp , bathroom spotless . Tea and coffee replenished daily . The staff were lovely , friendly and helpful , which now takes me to the owner of the hotel , Lucky ! He and his lovely wife did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable , Such a kind , friendly man , always making sure that you were happy with meals etc ,Situation is very central and our room { room 5 } had a lovely sea view . All in all a really good weekend .

This was our 8th visit to this modest hotel, the staff are as friendly as ever welcoming and helpful. Food is good and the hotel is great value for money. It is well placed for all the Theaters in Eastbourne and many rooms have sea views. Over alI, I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for value for money at a centrally located Eastbourne hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms 5, 10 and 14 are front doubles with sea views.

My friend and I just had long weekend at fairlands with travelstyletours.Rooms in need of update but are clean and comfortable. Food really nice and good size portions but more options would be nice. Staff very friendly and helpful and the proprietor is a one off! All in all very good value trip and would definitely stay there again. .Arlette & Sue, Birmingham.

Room Tip: Not g May be some access problems for those with mobility issues but there is a lift.

My husband went to Fairlands Hotel on 22nd March 2013 with Travelstyle. I can honestly say the staff and the food were nice. We were given room 5, which is a big twin room on the front of the hotel on the 1st floor. As soon as you entered this room you could smell damp and the only heating it had was a one bar electric wall heater which was over one of the single beds, obviously this heater was not adequate to heat such a big room. The windows were still the original sash ones and the frames were rotted. The window frames were rotten, therefore the cold and wind came in. Our clothes felt damp when we came to put them on. We only had a bath in the bathroom, which we were happy with, however there was never any water hot enough to take a bath! I can honestly say that I could never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Some rooms did have heating, if you decide to go here ask for one.
