Just spent an extended weekend at this hotel read all the reviews first and agree it IS very dated but our room was newly decorated and spotless, the entertainment excellent and staff great its the FOOD thats the problem - no problem with the breakfast though we couldn't decide WHICH was tea or coffee from the taste!! It was the evening meals which were amazingly bad the 2inch size chicken breast was so overcooked and dry it was like india rubber and the roast beef the next day was so tough everyone left theirs, ours was BLACK where it had been burnt and curled perfectly to sole our shoes with!!! The rooms were cold but a few extra jumpers and hot water bottles sorted that. A cheap hotel and not bad food just cooked badly!

Room Tip: After reading reviews I would suggest asking for shower if you prefer one and sea view meaning you...

Came here on a Travelstyle holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Room was comfortable and clean. The food was very nice. Proper food, not fancy stuff. Good size portion. The owner and staff are all very friendly. Entertainment was good. We got waved off by manager and staff. Handy location to beach, pier, theatre and town. Will definitely go again.

If you want 5 star this is not for you. If you want a warm welcome and a comfortable stay with very friendly staff could be for you. We stayed for 3 nights over the New Year and enjoyed every minute even though the weather was diabolical. Welcomed by the owners and made to feel comfortable throughout by all the staff with excellently cooked food and superb entertainment. Was a superb New Year at a very modest price and the 4 of us have already booked for next new year. Thank you to all at the Fairlands.

Just came back from a new year break at the hotel, had a fabulous time food was brilliant good and different choices every day, portion sizes were excellent for the money paid. Due to dietary requirements the chef was very accommodating and cooked my food to my specification. entertainment very good, The owners of the hotel worked very hard to make my stay and that of every guest a pleasurable one . The only thing I would say is that I wish I had had a shower in my room.

We stayed at Fairlands as part of a Travelstyle coach package and would recommend the hotel to anyone! It's situated close to the Sea and just a short walk to the pier and town centre.

Lucky and his team look after you from the moment you arrive to the time you leave.

For the price we paid the breakfasts and Evening Meals were excellent value and delicious. Lucky has a wonderful sense of humour and his staff are always attentive to your every need.

Don't hesitate just book - but - beware of the gong! Thanks 'You are the best! - We like you!'

We were offered this hotel as an alternative to a hotel on the Isle of Wight, because the booking could not be honoured by Travelstyle for the week we had booked. The rooms décor was very jaded and there was no shower facility, this is an important feature for a hotel that seems to cater for the elderly as many older people cannot get into or out of baths. Also there was a problem with the hot water supply, on two days of our stay there was none left in the mornings for us to wash in.
The male Proprietor was rather too attentive to the ladies - I am not accustomed to having hands on my shoulders and face right against me when being told of activities going on in the hotel.
The lady Proprietor was very helpful and the parking tickets for just a £1 a day was an excellent help.
The food was quite good with the vegetables always being nicely cooked but the choice of menu was rather limited.

Unfortunately we certainly would not stay at the Fairland Hotel again.

we booked holiday from the 25/10/13 to 28/10/13 3 nights half board at the fairlands hotel Eastbourne when we went in to our room 23 we had 3 single beds but when we booked we asked for double bed and single bed our room smelt of damp the bedding was damp and there was mould on walls and ceiling and carpet and bedside cabinets, fluff on walls and ceiling and top covers on beds was filfey it looked like food stains has the 3 of us suffer from asthma we should not have stopped in that room, I did go and ask the owner of the hotel if they could move us out to another room but was told the hotel was full but was willing to change our bed sheets they did change our bedding but not the top covers there was still a very bad smell in our room and we had to stop out all day because of the condition of the room we have stopped in some b&bs in the past but this hotel as to be the lowest of the low the hotel manager blamed the guttering for this but have since read reviews on this hotel and other people are saying the same about the hotel so it showing he has no intention of fixing the problems has we have been with you in the past on departure all they give us was tea and toast and that was for a 8 hour journey and that meant I had to pay £37.00 for food at the halfway stop for the 5 of us we feel sorry for all the the people who have to stop there in the future

Room Tip: don't go to this hotel
