Was an excellent guest house. The owners were really helpful and friendly. We stayed in two rooms both of which were well maintained and clean and modern. It was situated only a block away from the street of restaurants and take aways which made eating out really easy. There was a good variety at breakfast and it was yummy. The Wi-Fi was free, and there was a tv in the room. Nothing to complain about at all. Make sure you scratch out the month on the guest parking permit as like us you will get a ticket. I would recommend this B&B :)

4 star hotel but 1 star room ( as far as room 1 goes). The hotel has a lovely presence from the outside and a great spot near the pier and beach, although it was hard to park, we were sold a permit for the remarkable cost of £1 but it would have been useful to have known about this before we fed a meter with endless £1 coins. Very disappointed with the room, it was a large single so with a double bed you can imagine we struggled to get by each other and the tiny en-suite had a flimsy plastic folding door so very 60s. The en-suite had no window so the steam from our showers stayed in the en-suite the whole night despite the poor old extractor fan doing its upmost to extract the steam. The room was also cold....The breakfast was lovely and clearly locally bought produce and the owners very friendly...we did see on our invoice that we were going to be given room 3 so can only guess that someone else was allocated room 1 and asked to change before we arrived late afternoon. it is just a shame that the room didn't match the exterior and previous good reviews....sorry but will not go back unless we get a different room.

Room Tip: Avoid room 1, I'm sure the others are more like those shown on their website

This was our last stop along the south downs way before returning home and this was a really lovely B&B. The location is ideal and the rooms are clean, comfortable and very stylish. We were recommended a lovely restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast in the morning was very tasty. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.

There was four of us and we had two rooms. Both rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. Neil and Sue were great. Neil makes a great English breakfast. Very convenient to the seafront and the shopping area. Parking was pretty easy with the parking permit provided to us.

I have just returned from a weekend away 24-26th Aug & was very impressed with Cromwell House, The breakfast was lovely there was a great choice, Cereal, Fresh fruit & choice of Full English, the room was very nicely decorated & clean, we had Tea & Coffee in the room which was then topped up the next day. The Hosts were very friendly. also just by the Pier & a short walk to the shops it was very central. I would definately recommend Cromwell house.

I stayed at Cromwell House from 17th to 20th August 2012 and was blown away by the welcome I received. Spur of the moment decision to visit Eastbourne last weekend so booked at Cromwell House after reading many positive reviews on TA. Travelled with my daughter and we were not disappointed. On the contrary we were very impressed by everything we experienced at Cromwell House. From the standard of decor, the quality and style of the soft furnishings and the tasty breakfast served by our host Neil to the convenience of the location and the "home from home" feel to our stay, we could not have wished for more. All at a very reasonable rate - you could pay much more in a larger hotel, but I doubt you would receive such service! Give it a try!

Room Tip: I would request a room at the back if you are staying over the weekend, as the youngsters can get a...
