Review of Perrywinkles

Perrywinkles
Ranked #232 of 422 Restaurants in Eastbourne
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: Perrywinkles is a seafood stall with tables on the seafront promenade, just to the east of the pier. We went on a very sunny afternoon in the middle of June, and sat under the umbrellas eating cockles and crab sandwiches, followed by fresh pineapple frozen yogurts in a cone. They take the fresh fruit and blend the yoghurts to order. Both the seafood and the fruit were delicious. Behind the counter was a charming young lady, step-daughter of the owner, who was back in the UK to mind the shop. Perrywinkles is mentioned in Wikipedia: http://wikitravel.org/en/Eastbourne

Sitting on the sea front eating fresh seafood with the taste of the sea. When I say fresh I have never tasted seafood like it since the old days we live in Uckfield and drove to Eastbourne just to have a look around and just before you get to the pier there is this gem that sells seafood like the old days. Guess where we are going next weekend.

Attracted by the seafood, I paid a visit to this lille place and bought some cockles and a cup of tea which I sat down in the beach side chairs provided to enjoy.

Very pleasant person served me and chatted a bit as he made the tea to order. No fancy machines here - just a kettle, a teabag and a polystyrene cup - but just what I needed.

While eating my cockles, I noticed people buying the frozen yogurt ices. - they looked so nice - I had to try one too. They have made a very worth while investment in the machine that churns out these ices. Into one end your choice for frozen fruit + a block of frozen yoghurt - and out the other end a delicious ice yoghurt wippy style treat, served in a cone or a pot. I had the summer berries - tart and refreshing. Also very reasonable prices.

Very clean kiosk/cafe for fresh fish and fresh fruit. Ideally situated on the beach next to the pier. Cherries are highly recommended!
