Stayed here for 1 night.

Room - very average and very dated, generous size.
Bathroom - don't know if I was unlucky but I only got warm water, other than that average bathroom
Evenings entertainment - great if your over 50 and wanna boogy all night, terrible if your using the hotel purely for rest as the noise travels through the rooms till about 11 pm.

Generally disappointed but I assume that's my age as everyone else seemed very satisfied in this hotel !

Can't comment on entire hotel as didn't actually stay or dine here! Did however visit in the evenings as the entertainment was great , comedians & singers , great atmosphere bar prices were good and Bob manager at the bar was very friendly . May book a stay n try all other amenities next trip to Eastbourne

We spent two nights (18th & 19th February) at this lovely Victorian hotel. From the moment we arrived we received a warm and friendly welcome from Peter on reception and instantly felt relaxed and unwound. We had a beautiful sea view room on the 2nd floor from which we had lovely views of the sea, pier and seafront. It is really worth paying the supplement for a sea view room (if like me you love to look at the sea). All staff throughout our stay were friendly and welcoming and it is things like this that truly makes your stay. The hotel is really grand with authentic creaking floorboards! Yes there were coach parties of older people that stayed there, but let's face it, these are the people that keep some of these hotels going (especially out of season) and are also the people that bring trade to Eastbourne. We also found them very pleasant and at least there weren't any fights after too many drinks!! The hotel is ideally situated for the shops, restaurants and pier and the Royal Hippodrome Theatre is just around the corner. Our only regret was that we couldn't book for longer but as soon as we are able we will be returning again. Thank you to all the hard working staff at the Queens Hotel. You really helped make our stay more memorable.

Room Tip: Pay the supplement for a sea view room if you love to look at the sea. It really is worth it.

Travelling for work purposes I wanted somewhere with secure overnight parking and also within walking distance of amenities for my colleague when I was absent. The hotel met all these criteria however the usual clientele are coach parties and persons of certain age which would explain the entertainment and menu choices. We stayed during the wettest month since records began and the force of the rain and the noise of the sea were quite significant in our sea facing rooms in the summer months I would think the view would be appreciated. The building itself has some wonderful features the mouldings and ceilings are impressive, original plans and memorabilia make an interesting display. The rooms we were allocated were different in size and shape ! one with walk in shower cubicle and the other with shower over bath if this is an issue it may be worth phoning ahead to ask for a particular type of facility, the bathrooms had recently been overhauled and were very clean, no marks or mould etc. Towels were clean and adequate, soap and shower gel provided. The décor and drapery in public areas was appropriate to the scale and grandeur of the building in the bedrooms not quite ,more a 70/80s time warp that didn't quite blend with the features. Furniture adequate for purpose with 2 armchairs, coffee table etc along with dressing table, sheets etc clean but was surprised to find blankets on the beds! We stayed on a b &b basis so unable to comment on dinner choices, breakfast is waiter service and we were attended by Manuel who was very helpful and polite, usual choice of cereals, fruits and variety of cooked items and as much tea /coffee/toast as required, the second morning we had a different waitress who told us we couldn't have fruit salad then kippers as they were both main courses! when I explained that was exactly what I had the previous day she went off and then sent Manuel to attend to us who delivered the items without raising an eyebrow. As it is low season the dining room offered breakfast between 8-9 which may not suit all business travellers but again was mainly geared towards the coach parties needs. Reception staff polite and helpful and always in attendance.

Room Tip: bear in mind noise on seafront from waves, pebbles , passing traffic and nightclub on pier!

We have just been on one of Queens Hotel Christmas Party nights. This was our third time and it was, yet again, a great night. I would rate the hotel higher than the three stars as the hotel oozes character and charm, the food hot and tasty, the rooms spacious and, most of the staff friendly and cheerful. It is the previous comment about most of the staff that needs seriously shaking up. On arrival we were greeted by a young lady and young man, who were smiling and helpful handing us our keys and explaining how to find our rooms and also an older lady, who was obviously in charge, who was neither smiling nor helpful. In fact she was rude and made us feel as if she thought "here we go again another coach load of party goers". Come on now, first impressions are important and staff, especially senior staff, should be welcoming and helpful even when they feel like its "here we go again". As the saying goes "Don't spoil the ship for an ha'porth of tar".

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious but supplement is worth it for a sea view
