“The place to come”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

Having visited this restaurant many times I sampled "kleftica" in Greece and preferred the dish in Eastbourne. Dining at Athens is like enjoying a family dinner at home such is the friendliness of the staff. The owners are always working and generally enjoying banter with the customers. Food is great and great value for money. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing by!!!

“Mama's OK”
Reviewed 24 August 2013 via mobile

Food OK, but coffee (or koffee?) comes from Mamas old can. Service at times a bit chaotic. Ordered water but did not get glasses with it- borrowed some from the next empty table. Waited quite a bit for the bill to arrive.

“okish”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

I went there as a party of 8, we welcome we got was not very welcome but once the owner did realise that the lead party member had booked she become more pleasant and was actually nice once the evening went on and had a laugh with us.

The food was ok, the food was freshly cooked and nice and hot - don't normally eat fried food.

overall ok but don't think I wouldn't go back sorry

“A must go to for food lovers in Eastbourne.”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

Today my fiance and I visited Eastbourne to attend the Air show and. We happened upon a beautiful little authentic Greek restaurant full of charm and atmosphere.
The moment we walked in we knew we were in the right place, the hospitipal manor of the staff was welcoming and warm with a REAL traditional Greek family feel.
We started with a Greek salad (of course) and some home made dips with warm pitta, the main slow cooked lamb shoulder potatoes and rice I enjoyed was simply wonderful it literally melted off the bone, the moussaka my fiancé was just mouth watering, we could not keep from trying each others dishes (regularly).this is a must go to place if you find yourself in Eastbourne,it's the real thing but the surprising thing it's not expensive.
What was to be just a quick something to eat, for us turned into a nice romantic surprise.

“A great lunch”
Reviewed 17 August 2013 via mobile

A lovely lunch with friendly service. Great omelette and chips. We cleared our plates!. My friend usually leaves some lunch not this time. She didn't want a sweet but changed her mind when trifle was on the menu. Her favourite and she enjoyed it. I liked my sweet too. The food was freshly cooked. Have been customers for over 30 years
