Great front desk staff very helpful. Entertainment very good.
Restaurant - a lot of foreign staff that don't speak much English meant some mistakes at mealtimes. I was forced to keep the same table all week which wasn't in a good spot. And I was refused entry one day for wearing shorts.. A shame when I was enjoying a relaxing holiday. Rooms are excellent - spacious and well equipped however air conditioning would have been welcome.

This was the fifth time that I have been at the Cavendish this year. The staff there are really friendly and helpful and make feel at home. The staff that I have seen before knows exactly what I want usually BEFORE I have asked for it. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious with high ceilings. The breakfasts are really good and you have a selection of fruit and cereal etc and/or full English. I cannot comment on what the restaurant is like for lunch or dinner as I usually eat in the Coronet bar. I have not used the Spa so I cannot comment on that either.

Room Tip: Ask for Sea View room.

As said in previous reports this is an old Hotel, but it lends its self to having large rooms and big open stairways and corridors.

Easy to find, good parking, we arrived early, but were offered our room straight away as it was ready. Top marks to Ellen the Receptionist, who offered us a choice of rooms, and was most helpfull with local knowledge.

The room was big enough, and although the Bathroom was not very big, it was workable, good towels and toiletries.
The Hotel being old, does not have A/C, but there are desk fans in the rooms, and the windows do open, but then there is the Street noise, not as bad as Brighton, but there is some.

Breakfast is Buffet style, with options to upgrade.

We had Dinner 1 night, it was a small menu, but the food was not as good as we expected, nothing to complain about really , just us being particular. but I have to say, serving the mash potato up by using a ice cream scoop, reminded me of School dinners, neat and tidy on the plate, but not for a Restaurant please.

room cleaned to a good standard every day. in fact the Hotel was clean all over, including the Toilets in the public areas.

The bar staff were all very polite and attentive, as were all the staff we encountered around the Hotel.

We will probably return as we had such a good time, but this is a Hotel that has a more mature guest list.

Hotel is close to the theatres, 5 minute walk. 15 minute walk to the Station. The Bandstand is directly opposite, and has something going on most nights.

we did not use the Spa or Gym, so can not comment on them.

There are lots of Hotels to choose from in Eastbourne, but for us this suited our budget and needs.

If you do consider the Cavendish, go for a sea view room, you do not want to be looking at a car park or brick wall.

Room Tip: as said above, but the delivery vans and rubbish dust cart arrive daily about 7am. this will affect...

Stayed on the 4th floor in room 409. Wonderful view in the morning of the sun rising over the pier. Nice room - great balcony. The hotel is a great space and the reception is gorgeous. the receptionist was super helpful too! The dining room and their breakfast could do with a bit of updating (and please don't try and charge for proper coffee....it's really not on) but the experience of being in such a beautiful hotel with nice staff right next to the sea is very enjoyable.
This place could be a knock out! But we are working in Eastbourne over the next few months and will definitely be staying in the Cavendish every time.

Room Tip: sea views and on the higher floors are fab

In an imposing sea front location and very convenient for all the facilities of Eastbourne.
Room very clean & comfortable and all linen changed daily. Staff pleasant and attentive and the dining room breakfast was excellent in quality and layout. The big disappointment was that the lovely fresh fruit on offer (raspberries, cherries, blueberries, strawberries) disappeared with the tennis players.

Room Tip: would always ask for a room on first or second floor.

This is a lovely Hotel. The staff were very professional as you would expect from an hotel of this calibre. Checking in was a quick and simple process. Our room was immaculate and we had a wonderful view of the Eastbourne coastline.

The Cavendish is on the sea front. There is a car park that you pay for on a daily basis.

The breakfast was very good with various menus available and a fast and friendly service.

We loved our stay here and will definitely return.
