“FIRST CLASS FOOD AND SERVICE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Have just returned from a five day Daish coach trip staying at the Claremont hotel Eastbourne , food was excellent with a great choice of menu , table service was very fast and trouble free , choice of drinks in the bar were good and very reasonably priced with good service once again . there was entertainment each night which I was informed as very good , as that really is not my scene , the hotel lobby and lounge area was perhaps dated but quite comfortable to sit and relax while there was also tables and chairs outside for a drink of for just sitting down and watching the world go by . Room service was excellent and cant be faulted , The Hotel is also in excellent for position for a walk into the town/ train station etc all within easy walking distance , Down side for us was room size , with a very small space at side of bed and had to walk sideon to get in or out , very difficult , otherwise everything else was fine , if you stay on the side opposite the pier i.e room 203 for example the noise was horrendous until 2.00 /3.00 am with kids leaving the the disco etc , screaming shouting and general fighting among their selves that is the only downside that effected us at the Claremont

Room Tip: rooms vary in size and also better off for less noise than others if I should go again I would be as...

We self-drove from Newark - on -Trent last week and found the hotel easily. It is located in a superb position opposite the pier. First impressions of the hotel were excellent and continued during our stay. The hotel was spotless and our room was very comfortable and spacious. The food was up to Daishs standards both in variety and presentation. All the staff we came into contact with were very.pleasant and very helpful and full marks to them. The entertainment was the best we have had so far. Michael McEnery Chris Cain and Something Borrowed were all excellent. Hayley Ellis has a lovely voice but kept turning the volume up which caused a lot of people to leave - a lesson to learn.
Eastbourne is a lovely place to visit and is well served with buses which we used - with a bus stop outside the hotel
Our thanks to everyone for a superb holiday We will return.

Went with parents and another elderly relative 2 in their late 80's another age 90, and everything was a struggle. Booked a disabled room which had a foldaway seat in the tiny shower and that is what classed it as disabled, not very good when you need to get two people in, the other room that was booked was on the 1st floor and quite a walk throgh 2 doors which opened onto a metal stairway that you had to duck around to avoid banging your head. Not impressed. Meals were average, very time restricted, lovely waitress, very helpful. Didn't watch any of the evening entertainment as the seats and tables in the bar/lounge room were much to cramped and close together to get disabled people in. This hotel is very dated, needs a total refurb and a bigger lift.

Room Tip: Not sure there are any.

hi everyone just back from a 5 day break at the Claremont hotel Eastbourne, had a great time food very good, a good choice, waiters friendly and polite, entertainment first class, reception very clean room service first class, the only down side was the fire stairs on the first floor which meet you as you went through a door, needed to have a lot more of padding on it as older people tend to stumble and the old legs does not work as they should its a disaster just waiting to happen sooner or later, this needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later, most gusts on that floor were commenting on the dangerous situation, the revolving door at the front of the hotel was very difficult for the elderly to push, this again needs attention before an accident happens otherwise a great hotel, position very central and good, well done to all staff for a excellent holiday, hope these two things are sorted very soon

The position of the hotel itself was fabulous, right on the sea front, I was a bit worried it would be noisy but it wasn't. I feel the room could of done with a bit of updating although it was clean. The revolving door on the front isn't practical for getting through with a folded wheelchair and was quite difficult/stiff for my mom to push whilst having a walking stick in one hand, there wasn't any disabled access. There was one door that kept banging, I feel there should of been something attached to it so it closed slowly, could do with blackout blinds/curtains as the street light lit up the room
Food was also average.....all in all, little disappointed with the hotel itself so wouldn't stay there again

The Staff very friendly and helpful.Wonderful location near every thing. Nice and flat in the surrounding area no hills to climb. Not far to big shopping area and very handy for local buses.for example during the day a bus runs every 10 minutes to Brighton.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel very quiet. we spoke to another couple who had a sea view but...

Had a very nice holiday at the claremont , we found the staff very courteous and obliging nothing to much trouble the hotel is clean and comfortable the entertainment was very good the food we found to be of a very good standard , we have been taking holidays with daishs for many years and would recomend them for short breaks. The only complaint with this break at the claremont was the room although it was bright and a reasonable size it lacked in cleanliness the shower room and toilet where well below parr , dirty tiles and broken fittings not what we normally expect or get from daishs but it would not put us off going again ! It would if it happend again.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are noisy because they are above the road.
