“Petty and small minded”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

A day out planned with grandparents was totally ruined by this farm's policy on use of their catering facilities. Having spent an enjoyable morning picking fruit we decided to take some refreshments within their cafe/restaurant. We ordered coffees, fruit juices and a pot of tea for 2.
One of our party had mistakenly put milk into both cups but wanted their tea without milk - no hassle you would have thought! I went back to the counter and asked for another tea cup but was advised this was not possible, unless I purchased a 'cup of tea for 1'. Another member of our party then went to query this position and was then advised that we could have a new cup without the charge but a member of staff then followed us back to our table and demanded the original cup with milk back!! To our total astonishment, we realised that this was a serious demand and the member of staff waited at our table for the tea cup to be returned.
Having finished our food & drink, I went and asked to speak to the manager in order for me to make my feelings known about their abysmal lack of customer service. The only response I received was they had always made this charge from the first day they had been open. I told the manager that this did not make their policy right in any way and it certainly appeared that this business operated on the premise that all their customers were inherently dishonest and it was perfectly reasonable to make these sort of charges on top of the amount of money we had already spent on the fruit and the refreshments we had purchased.
Acceptable levels of customer service have been abandoned in the grasping pursuit of squeezing every single last penny from their clientele. We will definitely not be going back and I think that this farm should concentrate all their future efforts on their fruit and vegetables - it is very difficult to be rude and unhelpful to these!

“A pick your own with a difference”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2013

At Sharnfold you can pick your own (whatever in season at the time) buy from the superb farm shop and then have a lovely coffee/lunch/tea - whatever you feel like at the time. Lovely sitting out area as well as an attractive inside tea room.

“Always visit when in area!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2013

Never had a bad lunch or piece of cake here! Staff all so helpful and friendly, will make changes to menu for special diets if they can, food freshly prepared and lovely area to sit and eat both inside and out. Adjoining shop hard to resist for produce or gifts. Well worth a visit, you will go back!
Also pick your own, which I have never had time to stop sadly.

“A nice outing with a baby and the pushchair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013 via mobile

Stuck for ideas with a baby? We turned up on a nice sunny day. There is a small but nice play area with swings and slide and then you have a few walks you can do. Along the way there are a few animals-we saw lambs, pigs and donkeys. And this is all free. Fr older children there is a tractor ride too. Then back to the cafe where the prices are not the cheapest but not too expensive either. Given that there was no entry fee, it's pretty palatable. The cheese and asparagus scone freshly made that morning by the owner was delicious. The cakes were pretty good too. Then finally a stop in the shop, where my mum reliably informs the chilli sausages are delicious! Will return.

“Well thought out for every member of the family.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2013

The choice of produce in the shop (ready picked) is very good but the fact you can go and pick such a wonderful choice of veggies and fruit yourself is truly wonderful. After a mornings picking a very very tasty cheese scone in the tearoom. Full Marks to you all.
