“A blast from the past!”

The plus side - staff are friendly and the location is perfect and the linen clean and tidy. However, this is a hotel with both feet firmly in the 1970s! It is sorely in need of modernising the problems being to numerous to list here. Breakfast is too small for my liking and I assume the eggs were laid by a pigeon as I don't think chicken eggs are that small! ;-) The staff are a very nice lot but that can't paper over the cracks I'm afraid.

Room Tip: I wouldn't if I were you!

I will be totally honest I don't usually like staying in seaside hotels, much prefer a travel lodge or a Premier inn,I was best man at my friends wedding and he booked it so what the hell, and to be honest im glad he did. a reasonable room rate especially as it is on the seafront, clean and tidy rooms with excellent quality bedding and good standards of housekeeping, a shower that worked and actually got you wet. Breakfast is in the usual 90 minute time frame, full English and veggie options if your that way inclined, well cooked and of a reasonable quality as well as a large selection of fruit cereals etc. thoroughly enjoyed my stay.could not have asked for more and at half the price of the major hotel chains.

Room Tip: Nice view from room 10

I wanted to stay somewhere on the coast where I could have a sea view, so I came across the Marine Parade Hotel. The location is terrific with a view of the pier and a nice sunrise over the water in the morning from our twin room. The room was a bit small and certainly in need of an update. The hotel seems to be caught in a previous era and could use work. The room we had was directly over the pub and there was a singer in on that Friday night. The music could be heard quite well from below and was a bit disturbing, but it was over by the time I fell asleep. Carol recommended a great restaurant for dinner and breakfast in the morning was good in the downstairs dining room. If some more work is put into modernizing the place it could really be a gem that I hope it becomes. As it is, it is comfortable if a bit dated.

I had a single room with sea view which was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the whole room.To lie in bed listening to the waves breaking on the shingle was very restful. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful & friendly. The full English breakfast was well cooked & very tasty. Would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Very very good value.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view every time

Needed a small room on a budget for a conference - was not expecting to enjoy my stay so much. The hotel was in a perfect position, a stones throw from the pier and well within walking distance to anywhere I needed to go for the weekend. The room was cleaned with speed and ability - on my first morning I took half an hour over breakfast and found my room already spotlessly cleaned upon my return.

The number one reason I am looking forward to returning next year though? The staff. Headed up by the friendliest owners I've known, every single member of staff greeted me with a smile and was eager to make sure my stay was pleasant and stress free.

Highly recommended.
