Easy to find and park & situated next to a Fayre & Square pub offering 2 for £10 all day every day, plus breakfasts to Premier Inn guests who want it. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, but it looked fairly busy most of the time.

We arrived around 3.30pm on Saturday to a cheerful greeting & efficient check-in. We were on the top (2nd) floor. There are only 48 rooms so it's not a big place. Our room was spacious, clean & well maintained. In fact one of the first things we noticed about the hotel in general is that all areas we saw appeared clean & maintained. All the staff we came across were without exception cheerful & friendly. When the receptionist saw us perusing the leaflets in the lobby, she printed us a roadmap without us asking & then proceeded to explain the routes to town, shops, marina, seafront & nearby attractions! She really couldn't have been more helpful & wasn't intrusive.

The room is standard Premier Inn territory - double bed, 2 chairs & small table, desk & chair, hanging space & shelving, heater, cooler, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom provides 2 dispensers with hand soap & showergel. The weather was freezing cold but the heating worked and we found the controls easy to operate. We soon realised it resets itself to 16C every few hours, so if you're out all day it won't be warm when you get back but it doesn't take long for the room to warm up. We were here for 2 nights & happy to be.

There are shops nearby (short drive) & it's not far to the seafront & marina where there are more shops, a cineworld & lots of restaurants - we recommend Ganges curry house & Thai Marina both excellent quality & service for a reasonable price. The marina area was very busy Saturday night & much quieter Sunday as expected. The hotel's not far from the main road (although not close enough to be disturbed by traffic at the weekend) so it's handy for getting out and about along the coast.

We headed west towards Newhaven taking in Eastbourne seafront (pay & display 24/7 min 20p for 30 mins - suspect this is winter rate but there's still a patrol checking windscreens for tickets even in February!), Beachy Head (pay & display 80p to park for 30 mins & machines don't give change), Birling Gap (pay & display £1 for 30 mins) & the Seven Sisters, Cuckmere Haven (pay & display £2.50 for up to 2 hours) on our way there & the Long Man on our way back.

The only disappointment was the eager housekeeping team trying to get in our room at 9.30am on our last morning, despite the "do not disturb" sign on the door handle. (Did check it hadn't been removed or turned over as a prank before mentioning this at reception when we checked out). Overall this hotel offered us great value for our stay & we happily recommend it.

Hotel is next to the Mill pub so evening meals available. breakfast was excellent and good service. Had a good nights sleep and tv and shower etc did the job so overall a good stay. I think it was about 5 minutes drive to the seafront and town. Will definitely use again.

Hotel was what we expected. Parking on site. Not too far to travel into Eastbourne. Pleasant decor. Restuarant on site always makes life easier. Little dissapointed with the service, but all in all Restuarant staff were pleasant. Lift in the hotel could do with a service. A bit creeky, but usable. Possibly wrong position for anyone wanting to be in walking distance of anything. Bus service would be beneficial to some.
