“Wedding Reception”
Reviewed 17 September 2012

We decided to book our wedding reception at East Beach Hotel. We had a budget and it matched what we were after. Heidi the hotel owner was in constant contact with us from the day we visited. She helped us plan and took everything we said and did it with no problem at all. On the day of the wedding everything was what we hoped and more. The food was amazing which we were not expecting, the staff great (they even went out and brought a drink one of the guests wanted that they did not have.) All guests could not believe what we had paid for the day and said it was an amazing day. If you are thinking of booking your wedding reception with them I would recommend you go for it.

i have just had my wedding reception at this hotel, we could not have asked for a better day, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, the food was lovely just what we wanted everyone was really happy with it all, the evening do was brilliant to they had organised a dj for us and he was brilliant he had everyone dancing we had my nan who is 76 dancing aswell as my nieces dancing who are 3 and 1 the music was a mixture something for everyone, the evening buffett was great too couldnt have asked for more, we also thought that the drink prices were very reasonable as some weddings i have been too charge a lot, then there was the room, we had the suite with the heart shaped bath it was lovely me and my new husband sat on the balcony and watched the sun come up it was truelly wonderful, as there was a group of us the owner had asked us if we wanted to have breakfast together which we said yes so she said to make it easier for all she would do us all at half nine when it finishes which was perfect for us as everyone had been drinking so it meant a little longer in bed. the breakfast for me was great we had cereal then a cooked breakfast followed by toast which you could ask for more and they were very happy to do so for us, we had fresh coffee and tea and 3 different types of juice apple, orange and my mum and dads favourite grapefruit. we really felt that the staff really made our day that extra bit special and everyone really enjoyed it so thank you all at east beach so much you made my wedding day extra special

Room Tip: room 28 is really lovely with the balcony and heart shaped bath and lovely bed also lovely views of...

I got a two night deal which advertised itself as "sea view". When we got there the only available rooms were in the "mezzanine annex" on the back of the hotel.
The room was very small but clean and well presented. Had to wedge the window open for ventilation as the sash weights were sticking and allowing the window to drop closed. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was a bit pathetic and there are no courtesy toiletries so remember to bring some.
The TV free view receiver was dropping out every 15 mins. which was difficult to explain to the girl on the desk (her English was good but not technical) but the maintenance man swapped it out next morning.
Breakfast (full English) was not very generous but well cooked.
Free parking is in the side streets and can be problematical forcing you onto the sea front which is pay and display.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a sea view.

Very disappointed jacuzzi did not work and no hot water for a bath. No telephone in room, so if you needed reception you had to make your way down. Tele in bathroom did not work, otherwise breakfast was good and room 28 was lovely.

Room Tip: Sea room a must, very good view

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago with National Holidays, We had room32, the room its self was basic but clean enough, the bathroom was quite big compared to some. The best part was the view, we had three windows in bedroom and two in bathroom and the view was wonderful, to the sea one way and the pier the other, lit up at night it was lovely. The food was good and plentyful, waiting staff were quick and friendly. We had a damaged toitet seat and faulty smoke alarm which were both repaired as soon as we reported them.Like a lot of hotels could do with decor update but all in all a nice hotel with lovely views.

Room Tip: We had corner room, top floor, lots of windows.

We only stayed for one night but can honestly say that it was an enjoyable experience.

Our room was a refurbished one with a sea view. Room four.

It was clean and well furnished and the bathroom was also very good.

The receptionist booked us in efficiently and with a smile.

The breakfast was fine as well. No complaints from me.

I'd stay again.

We booked this hotel on a Groupon deal and paid an extra £40 to upgrade to a suite with a sea view and a large jacuzzi bath. We were contacted by the hotel four days before our stay to inform us that the jacuzzi was broken by the previous guests and they would offer us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience....
When we arrived we were initially hit by a bad smell and dated decor but were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who told us what time breakfast was and gave us our room key, she then brought us a nice bottle of wine up ( for the inconvenience ). The room was lovely, it had a superb view of the pier and sea, nicely decorated and a modern bathroom with a 2 person jacuzzi, Unfortunately the bathroom had a bad smell of drains.
Before we went out in the evening we decide to use the 2 person bath (without bubbles) whilst watching TV mounted on the wall opposite the bath, first of all the TV was not working then we found we had no hot water so we just decided to go out.
Sleeping wasn't to bad but the pillows were old and hard, we were woken up at 6 by the people above us walking around and their TV blairing out, luckily they were part of a coach party and the coach took them all away at 7. We went to berakfast at 8, it was ok but the cleaniness could have been better we had dirty cups and there was a piece of toast laying on the floor that was being walked around.
We thought we would have a shower after breakfast but we still didn't have any hot water so we packed our bags and left. The issues that we had were all minor but put them all together and it has put us off ever returning to this hotel.
All in all not quite what we were expecting............

Room Tip: pay extra and get a sea view
