I had no problems with urine smells, and would guess that the person who did had an unfortunately timed stay. Someone or something must have had at least one 'accident'.
The rooms are typical of converted old houses, in other words there's a shortage of sockets, the showers in our rooms were always in the bedroom, rather than in a bathroom, but these are normal problems with old houses that have been converted, or even updated. Each time there were no problems with the tv, the kettle, the toilet, and only minor problems with the shower one time because it wouldn't stay in the holder properly unless I put an elastic band on it. The beds each time were fine.
If you want to stay somewhere cheap this is fine, but if you want all the mod cons then go to a more expensive hotel.
And our breakfasts were always cooked freshly once we arrived in the dining area, plus there was always a good selection of cereals while we were waiting.
