“Lovely weekend”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

We stayed for the weekend at the Haddon Hall Hotel. It has a lovely family atmosphere which you never get at the chains and the reception staff go out of their way to treat guests as guests and not just people passing through. In our case this included holding mail for us and letting us use their office to book tickets.

Rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant and bar service were very quick despite the numbers staying. A pity about the weather but October is hit and miss

Vegetarians should think twice about booking into a hotel that refused my omelette request for breakfast, when all around tucked into a 'full English' or kippers. The duty manager and the charming Spanish waiter deemed my request reasonable, but were overruled by the 'chef'. The evening menu also seemed to think that vegetables equated to vegetarian. Noise at the back of the hotel was intolerable. When the disco below finished at around 1 am it was the drone of air conditioners, car park comings and goings etc. that prohibited the opening of a window to release the stuffiness. I was forced to cut short my three-day stay to one night with no offer of at least a partial refund. Ideal hotel for the hearing and culinary impaired!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are reputed to be larger and quieter.

Once again another great break at Haddon Hall. Great food and service by all staff. Extremely cheap bar prices for an hotel. Great location with theatre, shopping centre and promenade all within a few minutes walking distance.

The rooms are all very well equipped and clean. The best thing about this hotel though is the staff, nothing is ever too much and service is always delivered with a smile. The hotel has a home from home feel to it. Highly recommended and will certainly be returning again.

What a great hotel this is, nice location, lovely reception area and staff and a great party bar! The rooms are spacious and clean although could be slightly warm.
I have absolutely no idea about the food but my friends seemed to like it but the white wine was increidble!
The staff are very polite and curteous and nothing is too much trouble, a fine establishment. Will probably visit again next year.

Many thanks Victoria Hartley-Smith.

After a very recent weekend away at this hotel, i just had to write a review of my experience. From the moment you walk into this building, you are greeted with a warmth you would only expect from family. Everyone at the hotel should be commended for thier warmth towards guests, nothing is impossible at this hotel. If you ask for something, it is almost done before you finish asking your question. The manager has a really terrific staff list that shows respect for the guests at all times, this runs throughout the workforce from manager down to the chambermaids. Everyone is so polite to the guests, i would difinitely recommend this hotel as added to your holiday travellers list of places to stay. All bedrooms are en-suite and i can honestly say, if you're travelling to Eastbourne and need somewhere to stay, make Haddon Hall Hotel your first choice to stay away. You will not forget the warmth and hospitality of these people. They go more than than extra mile to make you feel comfortable and at home.

An excellent, comfortable place to spend an evening. Friendly and efficient bar service. Good sized dancefloor downstairs featuring lots of seating and full length mirror s to admire yourself as you jump and jive. Easy escape to quiet and spacious bar and foyer upstairs.

The hotel itself has a unique charm to it, the reception staff are very welcoming and work hard to make sure all guests feel special. The restaurant waiters/waitresses are very accomplished and serve quickly yet efficiently without fuss. The food is prepared to perfection and always served hot with plenty of vegetables. Three course are the norm and on occasions if you time it right, there is a gala dinner with many more courses. The rooms, as reviewed elsewhere, are on the small side but perfectly adequate for a short stay, after all the entertainment takes place elsewhere in the hotel, the ballroom in the basement is exquisite, plenty of light with stairs or lift access and toilets on the same level thus avoiding having to return to the reception level for comfort breaks. With bars on both levels this also helps, each with helpful and friendly bar staff. Location is also ideal being a short walk from the town center in one direction and the promenade a short walk the other way.
