Hi.. Just spent the last 5 days at Haddon Hall Hotel. Eastbourne.. We went with the Tour company. Nova from Chesterfield. ( Monday to Friday.) What a wonderful atmosphere when we arrived just like home from home, tea & coffee' with a lovely mince tart on arrival, it turned out to really be a fantastic place to stay & have a wonderful holiday. The whole of the Staff were a great bunch of professional people, with family attitude of looking after you, and caring about you. meals outstanding. Room excellent, lovely & clean. The entertainment was wonderful. I would like just to say a special thank you to all the Lovely staff, but, a very Special Thank you.!!! To Heidi...!! The entertainments personnel. Who created her own; individual style, which brought every one together. The different groups which came in each night played some beautiful music was also nice and easy, either to dance to, or if you are not a dancer, then to listen too.... From... Anne & Bill Haslam.. Nottinghamshire..

Room Tip: We had room 224 with a nice side window looking at the sea.

Having just returned from a 4-night stay at Haddon Hall hotel, I cannot praise it enough. The staff are professional whilst still being very friendly; nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always ready to help. The food is absolutely fantastic with a varied menu that appeals to all. The whole of the hotel is extremely clean and the accommodation is excellent. In the evening, the entertainment is of very good quality and varied; those responsible for both organising it and hosting it do a truly fantastic job.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend with friends and I visited an elderly relative. Had a wonderful time. Food very good quality with good choices. I am on a health food kick and asked for salmon with no sauce and an odd mix of breakfast items, so found the kitchen accommodating (surprised at other post about an omelette). Ordered chicken salad and a Stilton salad for lunches - huge amount of meat and cheese that I could not eat it all. Prices for lunch and bar all very very reasonable.

Rooms are small and there are stairs (small lift, but generally we went for the exercise) but it is very reasonably priced. I am fussy about my bed and was relieved that the bed was very comfortable. Normally one is pleased to get what you pay for; here we found the hotel better than what we paid - very good value.

Staff were warm and friendly with good banter. Will definitely stay again.

Haddon Hall is really a fantastic place to stay. Having just returned from my second visit (which I chose to extend as I didn't want to leave!), I can't thank the staff enough. Unlike just about any other hotel I've visited, the staff, whilst being professional throughout the course of their duties, are more like a big informal family. From the night porter to the kitchen staff, nothing is too much trouble, and there's always a conversation or a friendly exchange to be had. The hotel are to be commended on the excellent quality and quantity of food too. I'm not a small eater by any stretch of the imagination, but breakfast and evening meal were enough to have me just wanting a snack for lunch (I thoroughly recommend a piping hot bowl of HH chips for a quick mid day bite). From the front facing rooms there is a view (albeit at 90 degrees) of the sea, and being on a beautiful boulevard type road enhances this. The prom and bandstand are less than two minutes away also. I can't award a maximum rating as the single rooms are small, far too hot, and the general upstairs decor a little tired. But, the ambiance and wonderful people make up for all of this, and if I had to choose between five star luxury, or five star staff, I'd take the latter any day. I will be back, hopefully time and time again.

We stayed for the weekend at the Haddon Hall Hotel. It has a lovely family atmosphere which you never get at the chains and the reception staff go out of their way to treat guests as guests and not just people passing through. In our case this included holding mail for us and letting us use their office to book tickets.

Rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant and bar service were very quick despite the numbers staying. A pity about the weather but October is hit and miss

Vegetarians should think twice about booking into a hotel that refused my omelette request for breakfast, when all around tucked into a 'full English' or kippers. The duty manager and the charming Spanish waiter deemed my request reasonable, but were overruled by the 'chef'. The evening menu also seemed to think that vegetables equated to vegetarian. Noise at the back of the hotel was intolerable. When the disco below finished at around 1 am it was the drone of air conditioners, car park comings and goings etc. that prohibited the opening of a window to release the stuffiness. I was forced to cut short my three-day stay to one night with no offer of at least a partial refund. Ideal hotel for the hearing and culinary impaired!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are reputed to be larger and quieter.

Once again another great break at Haddon Hall. Great food and service by all staff. Extremely cheap bar prices for an hotel. Great location with theatre, shopping centre and promenade all within a few minutes walking distance.

The rooms are all very well equipped and clean. The best thing about this hotel though is the staff, nothing is ever too much and service is always delivered with a smile. The hotel has a home from home feel to it. Highly recommended and will certainly be returning again.
