We stayed during a weekend conference together with many other delegates.
On the good side, the hotel was extremely friendly, and our room enormous (at least 14ft high ceiling!), with what my back-troubled wife said was the best hotel bed she'd ever slept in. The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. It is situated about 1 minute walk from the Congress Theatre!
Negatives are that the room we stayed in was very tired, and looked like it has been fitted out in the 80's (formica everywhere). The TV was a small colour portable way across the (admittedly enormous) room. The Full English breakfast was very dissapointing, small and with indifferent ingredients, which, for over £60 a night, wasn't really satis.

It wouldn't take much effort to make this hotel a great deal better, and upping their game in the catering department when Conferences are on, rather than the usual (I assume) Saga crowd , would pay dividends.

I read some of the silly reports online about dirt and poor service..Get some new spectacles. We, my husband and I travelled with a party from the midlands. The welcome was warm service good..everyone seemed pleased to help. My husband has to have a specified diet for his health..we requested Bananas for breakfast and Yoghurts and these were provided..Had I been looking for negativity perhaps the radiaterswere a little scratched BUT I would have moaned about fresh paint smells especially when it gets warm..Soldier on dear people it was a pleasure to kn ow you....Margaret and Ren room 7 ....

Good Hotel,Meals were good but vegetables all came from packets.
Was surprised on wednesday told no veg other than peas and chips
The biggist let down was the service at meal times, 20 -40 minutes between courses the staff were very nice but there seemed to be a problem with the kitchen
We would go again hoping things were sorted.

Came with a Club Group, all says they enjoyed it. Food was great and plentiful, Accomodation was brilliant., Nothing was to much for the staff. Have been going therte for at least 3 years now, and no problems. Am going again this year with our Group for Turkey and Tinsel and again in February 2010. Will keep you informed if things change.

I paid £72 to stay one night at this hotel, it was absolutely awful. If you have any option do not stay here. The room was tatty, the bed was awful too soft. There were no basics you would expect even in a 2 star hotel such as this, ie. a fitting for the shower on the wall. One bar of soap provided to wash with. Only one small towel for two people! The decoration had not been updated I would say for 20 years - please do check out the photos attatched! DO NOT STAY HERE. Also the accomodation seems to be tailored towards the elderly population which visits Eastbourne - fair enough but if they also take bookings from other age ranges they need to make some sort of effort to ensure the accomodation is suitable for them also! NEVER AGAIN!!

This hotel was 2 star AA rated however the room was dirty with hair in the sink plughole ,dead flys in the bathroom light fitting , the ceiling light rose was hanging off, pillows and mattress were stained .We were on a bus tour but this should not be an excuse for what was poor accomodation . The food was only reasonable, with the full english breakfast being paticularly substandard.
