Description: The Mirabelle opened in 1989 being named after its famous Sister Restaurant in Curzon Street, London, which was at the time under the same ownership. Immediately after opening, the Restaurant gained an enviable reputation and is featured in many fine dining guides as a consistent entry year on year. A modern approach to flavours and textures has always been an important aim. The French Plum variety found in the Lorraine region, the Mirabelle, is famous for its full and pleasing flavours. We trust that your meal reflects these characteristics combined with service that complements the efforts of the Kitchen.

I went with a friend, who had a special deal voucher. We were treated equally along side the ''full payers'. The atmosphere and surroundings were all we hoped they would be, and it was a bit special, l felt like l was in a film, very classy n posh, but still comfortabke. The lunch menu offered excellent choices, and the food was cooked and presented perfectly. A pleasent afternoon.

How lucky we are to have such a lovely restaurant here in Eastbourne. It may not be the first place you think of when you just want to have a meal out, but if you fancy treating yourself to something a little more special or for a celebration the Mirabelle is the place to go. The service is so good, without all the fuss of lesser establishments. They are confident in the quality of their product so there is not the constant "is everything O.K."because the managers keep an eye on the room to ensure everything is O.K.
Our lunch on the set menu was difficult to fault and very good value, although, there are no bargains on the wine list it would be hard not to find something to suit your palate.
All in all a real treat with aperitifs in the bar, a delicious lunch with a very good bottle of wine and then coffee and petit fours served in the lounge for £60 per person. Not the cheapest lunch around but one that will be remembered for a long time.

A visit to the Mirabelle in Eastbourne always has the feeling of occasion. I used to eat fairly frequently at the Mirabelle in Curzon Street London but that is another story. So back to Eastbourne's Mirabelle which does have early ties with its London namesake. If choosing Al a Carte be prepared to spend as you might in one of the best restaurants to be found in any major city. However, for a more affordable occasion make a reservation for a visit at lunch time, choose from the suggested three course luncheon menu and you will not be at all disappointed as the choice is generally very good and the cuisine exceptional. Careful with the wine list however as their cellar is very good and a few bottles of their fine wines will make a real mess of your intentions to go for an affordable option!
