“Turkey and tinsel for over 60s”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2012

I went to this hotel somewhat unwillingly but was pressed to go for family reasons. This kind of hotelis not really my thing but I must say I did have a pleasant 5 days. The service in the dining room was good and even better when the head waiter rerturned to work.

The food was a good standard with a fair choice of menu. It was a week designed for the older person and not suitable for kids. I am 63 but felt a bit out of place. My choice of holiday is normally more open air with walks and scenery to look at, preferably abroad. Entertainment was the usual mix of vocalists and an electronic organ.

Good of it's kind, but not for me again.

Room Tip: Bit of an old building with plenty of stairs, one small lift solowerfloor if you don't like clim...

Home following a Turket and Tinsel week at this lovely Hotel. The staff are attentive at all times and are genuinely happy to help in any way they can. The food was of an extremely high standard, well presented . Our twin room was warm, comfortable with adequate wardrobe space.
The entertainment was good and enjoyable. There were two fancy dress evenings which everyone enjoyed and got into the spirit of the party. We suffered a 'Glitch' with the hot water and the television but this was dealt with as soon as it was reported. This in not the first time we have been guests at the Hadleigh, but the first 'Turkey and Tinsel'

Verdict- A thoroughly enjoyable time being entained and well looked after by an attentive staff

I have been going to this hotel to celebrate a Tinsel and Turkey break for a few years now and I can tell you the 2 times that we tried somewhere else just to have a change it was a big mistake and disappointment we could not get back to the hotel quick enough. The reason for this is because we are welcomed as soon as we get there our lugage is taken from the coach and up to ours there is a nice hot drink and hot mince pie ready and welcoming when you go in. The staff could not be nicer or more welcoming.Your rooms are clean with tea, TV AND BATH OR SHOWER ROOMS, and the menus you have a very good selection for breakfast or the evening meal. What with all this and the entertainment put on and being looked after by an excllent staff what more could you want to make a good break.

Room Tip: if not happy the staff will always accomodate you to a different suite if possible.

Visited the Hadleigh for a short break - It was very busy and our reception was not wonderful!! The staff seemed very stressed and didnt really have the time to welcome us as we would have expected. We had our room changed (no fault of theirs) and this was done without any fuss at all. The room was, clean and bed very comfortable - although I would have preferred a duvet as apposed to blankets. There was no folder with information related to the hotel and surrounding u area which would have been appreciated and although I asked on two occasions for one - it nevr showed up during our stay - this should have been done before or soon after we arrived. All of the facilities in the hotel were very good - lots of room to sit and have coffee, meet and make new friends.................only complaint was that they stopped serving snacks and sandwiches at 1.30pm which may be difficult for people arriving later after a long journey - particularly if mobility is a problem - as it is quite a 'stride' to find somewhere decent to eat................we went along to the Cumberland Hotel just along the front and had a very good 'high tea' with entertainment..so Hadleigh take note - you may loose some of your customers.!!!!!!

Restaurant areas were very clean and tidy, staff were welcoming and friendly, food was cooked and served to a high standard - nothing was too much of a problem for any of the staff - who were always cheerful and friendly.

There was good entertainment provided each night - we particulaly enjoyed the group called Nostalgia who entertained us on the Sunday night - they were by far the best of the few days that we spent at the Hadleigh - Hadleigh - GET THEM BACK - our group thoroughly enjoyed them.

We were very impressed by the level of hygiene throughout the hotel - there were hand wash facilities everywhere and on each level of the bedroom areas - WELL DONE!!!! This does help to lower the risk of infection spreading.

All public toilet areas were cleaned to a very high standard..................

The hotel is well located for access to the beaches and not too far away from the pier - we enjoyed the open air bus tour which is well worth the £7.50 that we paid - it provides good views and information on the surrounding areas.

Am writting on behalf of my parents and grandparents who have just returned from a week at the Hadleigh.

Excellent hotel, good selection of food every day - more than you can eat! Clean rooms, super friendly staff, excellent location.

They will be returning, maybe to try a turkey & tinsel as they loved it so much.
