I stay at Hotels in Eastbourne very often. Some good, some not so. I stayed last night, 18th May.This Hotel, for the price charged was great. Having read some reviews I do feel that people are expecting a plush experience (maybe the name misleads?) which is unrealistic at the prices charged. The hotel is opposite the sea. The foyer and bar is smart and inviting. The reception girl was extremely friendly and helpful (and gorgeous coincidentally!). The hotel manager intervened as the website hadnt booked me properly but she soon sorted this with a smile. I got a small sea front room which was adequate in size overlooking the sea. It was clean and tidy. After a quiet nights sleep I found the shower to be fine. Breakfast was served quickly and efficiently and to a high standard. I was checked out by another smiling receptionist (yes gorgeous too in case you were wondering...!) and I left feeling valued.
My advice to those who complained: You expected too much. Next time go elsewhere but pay much more. For those who are realistsic and want excellent value for money in a no low frills hotel, bang on the seafront, you will find it here. Well done to the manager and your staff. Pete
