“Good value for money”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

Me and my wife stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The good thing about the stay was the room with sea view. Room itself was alright but seemed aged and in need of imidiate referb. On our first evening there were problems with finding table for us and the restaurant manager wasn't very helpful with sorting it out. She seemed unprofessional. Food was nice ,altough I was bit shocked when one of the waitresess told me that we have to share sauces with other tables. Overally good hotel but needs improvement.

Stayed 2 nights whilst on a business trip to Brighton (hotels in Eastbourne were half the price). Hotels cater for both coach parties which were popular with the over 60s as well as private bookings. Seperate catering facilities for both types of bookings. We arrived at midnight, having booked at 4.30 pm and set off. The night porter did not have details of our booking but a swift call to the duty manager soon sorted things out even at such an anti-social hour. Enjoyed a hearty breakfast

This review is of the hotel and not Eastbourne ...
My wife and I spent a couple of at this hotel during this year's Airbourne event, we didn't spend too much time in the room or the hotel thankfully.
The room was clean enough although signs of age were showing in a few places, some of the public areas looked tatty although the bar and restaurant areas seemed to be fine.
In the evening we had a single drink in the bar (Liebraumilch as a house wine ... really) which was super heated to uncomfortable levels, according to the bar staff it is always like this, and had to go outside to get anything like cool (and it wasn't a hot day by the way).
I checked the "entertainment" before going out for dinner, frankly this would have been considered old fashioned in the 80's (dodgy vocalist and unfunny comedian playing to a room of pensioners).
I only had one breakfast as I chose to skip the other one, generally OK but the cheapest, nastiest sausages I have ever come across with tasteless cheap coffee.
Our room was at the back of the hotel and as such no sea view for us, also no real bathroom, they have found a way to make aircraft toilets look roomy. The toilet was hard for me to get into (and I am not even remotely lardy), the shower and sink was in a separate cupboard with the sink a tiny corner unit so positioned that it was hard to use.
Other clientele seemed to me to be coach parties that want cheap and cheerful, lots of fag smoking, tattoos and cheap lager drinking - the front doors of the hotel were a comedy of smokers in the mornings.
Very much average to below average for Eastbourne, I know I will pay a premium for Airbourne but for 70 quid a night it really should have been better, for that sort of money I could have had a local country hotel and taxied in.
In future I will pay a bit more and get much more.

Room Tip: Seaview only ...

A good value long weekend break, nice room with great sea view. Dining room very pleasant and well appointed, polite , helpful waiting staff. On the down side the lift was tiny only just fit two slim people and suitcase in. The corridor had a fire door on it, which banged shut loudly and woke us up several times at 1am when someone passed through it. The reception desk was not manned at all times and no bell to call for service , also reception ran out of day parking tickets so would recommend getting them in advance on arrival if possible. We did not realise that they may run out. As other visitors have already remarked we also drove up and down road several times before we located the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view if possible and beware one room had the fire escape through it.

Have just had a 3 night weekend at this Hotel, and must we were very pleasantly surprised. Had read several views on this hotel and was dreading going to stay, but must say we were very pleased with everything. Food was very enjoyable, entertainment good, and hotel position right on the seafront. To add to this it was Eastbourne's airshow weekend, and so had an extra bonus and good views of it all with fireworks display at the end of the weekend. Will defo go back again

Room Tip: Albeit our room was fairly small, but wasn't a problem. Air con would of been good, as it was ve...

I have been a coach driver for nearly thirty years and I never been in a more filthy place in my life.
The bedroom was so small there was not enough room to get a cat in let alone swing it anywhere.
the food is very mediocre....the chef is not a chef more a learning cook who cant get it right.
Maybe a referb of the who place and some of the staff would not go amiss.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Enjoyed the stay although at the back of the hotel.
Good value anyway and helpful staff.
Need to "bling" up the front sign to make it easier to find though.
Great for Eastbourne Air Show.
