“Golfing Weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2012

We stayed at this very nice guest house for two nights, It is only a few minute walk along the beautiful sea front into the main streets of Llandudno. It is tastefully decorated and the food was good and reasonably priced. However, the breakfast time is set in stone at 9 so the first morning we were golfing at 9 so just had to skip it. It did not bother us but some people might wish to eat earlier. We played golf at Rhos on Sea which is a very friendly club. We played one day after 3pm and it only cost £10.50 for a round at the twilight rate. If you are going to Venue Cymru Theatre that is also only a few minutes walk away.

Room Tip: Front rooms look out on to the sea.

We have just returned from a stay here and what a delightful hotel it is. A cosy, clean and warm room with excellent views of the promenade, little and the great orme. A great night sleep in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty, well presented and hot. Neil, the perfect host. Highly recommend the Carmel as a place to stay.....

Here for the Easter weekend and enjoyed it very much!
It's on the sea front but about a twenty minute walk to the touristy part of the sea front.
Neil greeted us with a smile and carried our suitcase to our room for us, he also made it so we had a double instead of a single :)
He spoke to both of us and asked both names so it felt more personal which was nice.
We got a sea view room on the top floor but even with large window it can be shadowed in the room. Plenty of storage to unpack our bags! The bathroom is huge. Everything was clean but the shower could have worked a little better. They provide cotton pads and ear buds which ive never had in a hotel before! The choice of decor in the bedroom and everywhere else was wonderful - simple but it made the place feel homely. :)
There's a tv in the room that's free view. It's small but not bad.
The free wifi just about works - its strongest in the breakfast room but up on top floor its hard to connect properly.
The breakfast room is great as the tables for two are plenty big enough with space for everything and more. At night it's the bistro and it's decorated to feel romantic and quite beautiful!
The reception area provides useful information and leaflets which is great as you don't tend to see any one after breakfast.
Overall a really nice place to stay, felt like home, and not a bog standard room with no character or personality!

We stayed in the Carmel hotel for two nights and were very pleased. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location, right on the sea front and within walking distance of shops bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back.

My husand and I were attending a concert at the Venue and I chose the Carmel due to it's proximity - a couple of minutes walk along the seafront. We were perfectly happy with the decor and ambience of the hotel and our welcome from Neil. Our room, although small - was very clean and comfortable, with an enormous ensuite and views of the sea. We ate a pre-theatre supper in the Bistro at around 6.30pm - perfect time to allow us to eat our meal and wander along to the Theatre. The meal was lovely, good choice of wines, well priced as was the dinner. In fact, Neil was turning people away from the Bistro as it was fully booked - even on a Friday night in March. We returned from the Theatre at around 11pm and had a nightcap and a chat with Neil to round the evening off. We both had a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast. We will definitely stay at the Carmel again should we be visiting the area.

Room Tip: I would recommend rooms 8 or 9, but if you don't mind paying a little more I'd choose room 5...

The innkeeper Neil is exceedingly nice and treated my 8 year old daughter like a princess every day at breakfast. Pleasant room, great view, right across from the ocean, ~10 minutes to town center.
