“Very friendly and welcoming place to stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend break. We found Neil, the owner, to be very welcoming and easy going, even taking the time to remember our names. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday during our stay with all the facilities you would find at any hotel. The location is amazing, close enough to the town centre to make the most of the promenade for an after dinner stroll. The breakfast was just right, a nice continental style buffet and a choice of hot options which arrive post haste... Neil certainly runs a tight ship! We decided on the first night to take advantage of the bistro and we weren't disappointed. In fact we enjoyed it so much we decided to eat there both nights. The service was faultless and for £15.50 each for 2 courses, the choice and value for money was unquestionable. The steak alone was worth the price! I would recommend The Carmel to anyone in this part of the world and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We wanted a few days away and wanted a return to Llandudno.

We booked in and given a warm welcome, as many have commented sometimes people can try too hard Neil had a very polite and balanced approach. A year on nearly and the stay is still with us as being a memorable one.

We also took advantage of the bistro, well worth asking whats on.

We had a room on the front which was very tidy and offered a seaview from bed! Cant be bad!

Room Tip: Ask for the room above the front door!

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st anniversary. We found this hotel out of the way of the town centre so it was more peaceful and was a lovely walk to the pier. The room was extremely clean (as was the en-suite) with great sea views (room 5). Neil and Gill the owners did a great job of looking after us during our stay and we would definitely go back! How many hotels give you a little gift on the morning of your anniversary to say congratulations....plus a table looking over the seas for our breakfast on our own?! Just cannot fault this place!

We had to book last minute after a disastrous stay at another hotel. It's always good when things get off to a good start and the welcome from the owner, Neil, was great. He personally carried one of our heavy cases up to the room for us. He made the effort of remembering everybody's first name and used them!

The hotel is located on the Craig Y Don Parade facing the sea, but we had a room looking out to the back, which didn't bother us. While the décor might not be to everyone's taste, the room was clean and comfortable. The shower was great on the first morning, but we did find it difficult to regulate the temperature the next morning.

The standard of breakfast was very good. The only slight downside is that the window to have breakfast is narrow, but I am sure they would accommodate special circumstances.

The hotel is located at the far end of town, but we enjoyed the 20 minute walk along the promenade anyway. There is a small parking space at the back of the hotel, but street parking around that end of the town isn't a problem. Can recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

Lovely Hotel. We stayed over the easter weekend. We were very well looked after by the owner, Neil who was very friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed in room 8 which was a bit small but the ensuite was quite big. Bed was very comfortable, crisp white sheets and pillows. Very clean and tidy throughout the hotel. The hotels Bistro was a real bonus, the food was excellent!! In fact even if you weren't staying at the hotel I would recommend dining there. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.

We spent two nights here recently- chosen because it's near relatives.
Situated on a corner position, it has great sea views towards the pier and Great Orme.It is about a 20minute stroll to the pier and town along a very pleasant flat promenade.
We booked a back room, which was quiet. We found everything to be very clean, with a tea tray, small TV and ensuite shower.
The décor is a little dated, but the welcome was warm, and the breakfast well presented, and ample portions.
We had a few problems with the shower temperature, but all in all felt we had good value for money. There was even an Easter Egg and card on each table on Easter Sunday morning! Nice touch.

A really lovely place to say with very welcoming hosts. This was booked at the last minute for my parents who wanted a couple of days away and Neil was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and comfortable. They ate at the bistro on both nights and said the food was gorgeous, really delicious and perfectly cooked. They would definitely go again.
