Our room was large enough for two people. yes the decor is dated but cleaniness was a good standard . The cleaner came in each day, bins were emptied, toilet rolls ,clean towels were all added when neccessary. Plenty of t-bags, coffee sachets, milk. . The staff were friendly and answered our questions. The menu was varied and the food more than enough. Evening entertainment was a let down as most of the customers spent their evenings in the British Legion
opposite. This hotel is not really suitable for families. Older couples and single older people will find it suits.

Room Tip: The rooms on the sides are quieter.

We stayed in this hotel, purely because we got a voucher online. I suppose because of this, we cant really moan, but we did pay our money like everyone else.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a man (I presume he was the owner, he didnt actually introduce himself) who gave us our room key and our 'orders'. Breakfast ONLY served between 8.30 am and 9.00 am and we had to sit at a specific table and if we wanted dinner, it was served at 6.30 pm. No alternatives!! Thought this was a bit odd but decided to make the effort to get up in the 2 mornings we were there.

Our room - well, I had asked for a double room, we actually got a family room, with an extra single bed in it, so there wasnt a lot of room. It was on the front of the hotel and while the view wasnt so bad, it seems that there is some kind of hostel across the road and the residents stand outside smoking and drinking. While they didnt cause a nuisance, I did feel slightly intimidated going out alone. The room itself, while very clean, was very dated and old fashioned. When was the last time you had sheets and blankets on a bed?? the furniture was very dated and there was a light shade in there that looked like it had been put on in the 60's! Besides that, the bathroom was spotless and the shower was great.

After going out in the evening, we decided to finish our evening in the bar of the hotel. When we arrived, there was only 4 other people in there, ballroom music was playing and while this might be attractive to some, it didnt appeal to us! We had a drink from the bar, although this did seem like too much trouble for the gentleman that served us. The drink (we had 2 x pints of stella) was horrible. I think it was an old barrell that had been on for a while and tasted stale and was flat. We decided to go and have a game of pool downstairs, in the games room. Not sure how many people actually venture down there, but there was a lot of old bits and pieces that looked like they had been taken down there and forgotten about! The gentleman who served us came down to ask if we wanted any more to drink at 11.00 pm as he was closing the bar, despite advertised hours being til midnight. We would have had another drink (a different one) but felt that he just wanted to close the bar and go to bed, so we didnt bother. He 'told' us to turn off all the lights, close the doors and make sure we didnt go anywhere else other than upstairs because he had put the alarm on! We duly did as told and went to bed.

On Monday morning, we went for breakfast. Cereal OR juice, and only 1 glass of juice, then a choice of bacon, sausage, egg, fried bread, beans and tomatoes. Tea, whether you wanted it or not. While the choice wasnt brilliant, the service was excellent and I would really like to praise the staff who were on as it was very busy and they were fast and efficient. Plenty of hot toast and butter when requested.

All in all, we wouldnt stay here again and wouldnt recommend it to anyone our age (we are late 30's) as it seems to cater - in the main - for an older clientele (ie pensioners) and whilst NO offense is intended at all, we felt out of place. I am sure my Nan would like the regime and the place, but it really wasnt to our taste at all.

Very old decor, dinner horrendous(stayed 3 nights only ate at hotel once)breakfast was ok,but leave a good hour to eat it because they take so long to serve you.Take plenty of extra money to eat out.No need to sit down stairs to and watch the entertainmet, could here it all from are room. The only reason I am giving it 1 is the bed linning and towels were beautifully clean.Would not recommend to anybody(we were on a bus trip and had no choice where to stay)

Room Tip: choose a nother hotel

Arriving at the hotel with a fear of lifts, asthma and on the top floor it was no trouble whatsover to move me closer to the ground floor.
Receptionists were very helpfull, food was exellent and the dining room staff extreemly pleasant and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated close to shops and the Tram to the Great Orme. I would definately stay here again, however if you need a breakfast before 8.30/8.45am due to a early meeting this is not possible, this was the only downside to this pleasant stay.
