Booked a "twixmas" break for my parents, myself and my brother, following some internet research. The Tynedale Hotel is in a perfect position on the seafront at Llandudno - right opposite the bandstand, and is something of a hidden gem! Having spent a great deal of time on childhood holidays in and around the Llandudno area, and still enjoying all that the area has to offer, this seemed like the ideal spot for a quick post Xmas getaway. The impressive photographs displayed on the hotel's website were indeed a true refelection of the experience we enjoyed during our stay - clean, stylish, modern decor, which would not look out of place in some higher graded establishment. The staff team could not have been more attentive and helpful - from check in through to check out, their service was faultless.
The food was excellent - the additional afternoon tea and late night supper buffet were a wonderfully inspired extra touch, but the substantial and imaginative menus on offer should satisfy the most demanding appetites - I can't recommend the whisky porridge enough - what a fabulous breakfast idea!
I was a tad apprehensive that the hotel may be full of coach party guests who were at the older end of the age spectrum - but there was a real mix of folk, all of whom seemed intent on enjoying themselves, thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that the Tynedale seems to have in abundance. Many of the guests were regular visitors - and Twixmas is clearly a popular time for catching up with old friends from previous visits - I booked this break in June and although I was too late to secure the larger Sea View rooms on the lower floors, the 3rd floor rooms we were allocated, were perfect for our needs, not to mention spotlessly clean and furnished in contemporary fashion, complete with wall mounted TV, hairdryer and plenty of supplies for "making a brew" - ideal when you've been blown halfway down the prom in the Wintry weather!
I simply can not fault any aspect of the stay, and am quite sure that a twixmas break, might well feature as an annual event. Quite simply perfect!

Decided to treat my elderly aunt and her partner to a 4 night pre Christmas Break at The Tynedale or Holly & Mistletoe as marketed by the hotel. From arrival with snow and santa on a sled the whole four days was wonderful. The staff and management really go to great lengths to make this break really special. Canopes before dinner, late night buffet every night and a Festive Buffet on the 3rd night which was out of this world - in fact I have only seen similar buffets on cruise ships before. The hotel I am told has had a major refurb to the ground floor this year and it is very modern in style and taste. The bedrooms we were allocated were not large but both en suites were very modern with showers over the bath. Live entertainment every night of our stay and to top it all a gift from Santa! The hotel was fully booked during our stay and I can understand why.
I can definitely recommend this hotel if you fancy a mid winter break.

We have been going to this Hotel for a number of years as yet we have never found a fault with it. The rooms may not be as spacious as some Hotels we have stayed in but you are not in your rooms for long. The food is always first class and the staff are very nice to everyone. The evening entertainment is usually very good. We did have one comedian this year we were not too keen on but other people may have enjoyed him. We do not all laugh at the same things.

A 'cruise' onboard the Tynedale was a unique experience and an extremely pleasant experience. The management & staff were always available & helpful. The evening entertainment was professioal and varied. The food & its presentation was of an excellent standard.

We have just returned from a Turkey & Tinsel holiday which was our first stay at this hotel. From the moment of our arrival to leaving the hotel, the staff were absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The food and the presentation, particularly the Gala Buffet, needs to be seen to be believed and they even rounded each evening off with a finger buffet at 11.00 p.m.
Each evening there was quality entertainment and on "Christmas Day" Santa Claus presented each guest individually with a worthwhile present and took the time to speak at length to each and everyone.
We have done several Turkey & Tinsel holidays but can say this was by far the best.
The hotel offers many different breaks throughout the year and we will definitely be returning in 2009.
