We went for an evening meal and the food and service were excellent. Good variety of food on offer and we can recommend the steak pie and the Lasagne both delicious.
It's in a good location too.
It was recommended by our hotel and they booked it for us.
If you haven't booked your hotel yet Lawton Court is not to be missed.

This has got to be one of the best food pubs to be found anywhere... to say its 'pub grub' would do it a complete dis-service. The food here is so very very good. Recently expanded, the pub is full of character and is rarely less than busy. No matter what time of day I've been, there has always been people eating. The food itself is primarily sourced locally whenever possible, and the portions are huge and beautifully presented. The staff are always polite and helpful, and the beers not too bad either! The prices for both the food and drink are very competitive, although its difficult to compare the food prices as I personally haven't found anywhere that can compete with the quality and taste to be found here. Try it.... you won't be disappointed.

This is a very relaxing and friendly Bar/Restaurant. The staff are warm, friendly and chatty, the food is 'to die for' and it serves a good selection of real ale too.....what more could you want?

I've review this Pub before but it definitely worth another entry. They've recently converted the garden into a nice inside dining area. This is now a proper gastro pub with prices to match however it retains a great pub atmosphere with at least 6 local cask ales on offer. It's worth booking now to get a decent table however on a recent visit we were well received and offered a nice table for two in the bar. Great food - I had the pie and wife the pork loin - see photo - well cooked - nicely presented by attentive staff - well done We will continue to come back

This was a lovely, welcoming restaurant/pub where the food was delicious. If anything the portions were too big. I would definitely go here again.
