Description: The cafe is located right near the beach and Llandudno pier. We have an ice cream kiosk outside and offer a take out menu (which can be subject to waiting times during busy periods). Our most popular dish is fish and chips, a seaside classic! The staff are a close knit bunch with many of us returning year after year! We are a friendly bunch and there is a real family atmosphere amongst the staff. A few of the staff are even actually related! We have a fantastic health rating of 5 stars and many of our senior staff have a collection of health and safety certificates which can be seen on the wall downstairs. We have plenty of space with 16 tables inside, 3 outside and even space downstairs! There are two kitchens, the fish and chips are cooked separately downstairs. They are that popular we need an extra kitchen to cook them in! The main downfall is that the bathrooms are downstairs but we always offer assistance navigating the stairs or directions to the nearest ground floor bathroom!

We tried to sit at a 2 person table rather than hogging a four person, but the two available were so squashed between a water pipe/wall and the table beside it we moved to another, which was beside the stairs at the back of the cafe.

We sat and looked at the menu for a moment before I asked my fiancee if he could smell urine too. He replied that he didn't want to mention it because he knew how hungry I was, but that yes he could and the view onto the dirty alleyway out of the window wasn't doing much for him either.

We left.

Surly service. Disgusting coffee. Rubbish cakes. Generally dowdy, greasy spoon atmosphere. This place has been recommended in serious national papers, but these recommendations cannot be serious. A place like this confirms all one's worst prejudices about the dismally low standards in British seaside resorts. There are, however, much better places with equivalent prices in Llandudno.

The reveiw above is way off the mark.Me and my family always eat at Holmes Place, when ever we are in llandudno and have done for the last few years-and two weeks ago we there was sixteen of us for a family birthday and as always the food and service was excellent. The fish and chips are the best in town. And a great location over looking the pier. so if your in llandudno give it a try.

On leaving this cafe I felt robbed of £18 for a lunch for 2 adults and a child. The turkey baguette was missing ingredients listed on the menu, the soup was poor and the children's meal was worse than a happy meal from McDonald's. The staff struggled to provide a basic level of service and we needed to ask 3 times for sauce on the child's meal. Extremely poor!!!
